Macro abstracts can be shot anywhere – your back garden, your street or on your walk into work. Textures and shapes are (quite literally!) everywhere. The same guidelines around composition apply, and you can use the rule of thirds, curves, and lines, to draw the viewer into your image. The difference is that the subject may not be immediately recognisable and the centre of interest may not be the subject itself.
