Thank you for entering my Male Colour Headshots competition , the framing generated by the position of the arms combined with the shallow depth of field of your aperture settings draws you in to the most important area of any portrait , the eyes.

A stunningly simple image that works so well.

Thank you for entering my Male Colour Headshots competition , whilst most of the other high placed entries in both judged and crowd have used studio lights to great effect, you have shown a mastery of light that many could aspire to

Thank you for entering my Male Colour Headshots competition, I noticed this image being entered part way through and felt at that point that it would take something particularly special to beat it. The fact that this is in first place shows how far ahead of the competition this image is.

A powerful image in its own right, I wasn't interested in the imagery behind it, rather the simple technical ability shown.

The irony that this photo, whilst still colour has minimal tones is not lost when so many people could not follow the brief asking for colour is not lost.

Well done on a fully deserved win

Thank you for entering my Male Colour Headshots competition . Don't mistake the simplicity of this photo for being without merit.

An emotional technically good photo does not require it to be "busy" as some would believe.

This image is simple crisp and clean, the model stares right into you. inviting you to know more.

Well done

Thank you for entering my Male Colour Headshots competition , the term "uncanny valley" springs to mind when viewing this image , everything looks perfect, but nature is not, nature has imperfections.
This image looks to be bordering on that on high end computer generated images and as such the human eye does not always know how to deal with that. I think that it might be the large catch light reflection in the model's eye that has given this.

That aside, I like it, however this image has been achieved, the lighting gives a nice drop off from front to back with shadows emphasizing the masculine lines of the model's face.

Nicely done

Showcase your best colour portrait photos of men, head and shoulders only, taken in a studio or studio-type setting where you have demonstrated your control of the lighting. Full colour images only. Head and shoulders shots only. Proper thought should have been given to the concept and lighting. In my judging I would prefer not to see high dynamic range (HDR) images.
