This photograph is stunning, and works so much better in Black and White it wouldn't have had the same impact in colour. You get a sense of real foreboding, a dark and tough wilderness with the two stags fighting and dark clouds. I don't understand why its not done better in the user ratings. Amazing image !

The expression on this seal is priceless love it ! The Joy in this picture is what makes the image stand out, and shows off the character of these very nosey animals. Nice clean background, super sharp ,and good eye contact which is so important in wildlife images. Cheeky Chappie !

There is something about this image that makes it stand out from the crowd. The eye contact with the stag, the snow capped hills, and blue sky give you a sense of the wilderness and the magnificence of this animal. Composition to me is spot on, and proves animals don't need to be big in the frame to make an excellent wildlife image. This would look great printed and mounted on a wall. Well done !

Beautiful image of a Red Squirrel. Composition, image sharpness and soft background are spot on, If it was my image i would probably tweak the vibrancy and saturation slightly just to enhance the colours, and clone out the rain streaks in the background.

The highlights are also spot on, which is so important in wildlife images. Great work !

Beautiful image of a red squirrel , great back lighting with the iconic tail and ear tufts. The background is excellent and isolates the squirrel nicely. In my opinion the only minor niggle is the peanuts. A great alternative would be to use cob nuts or even hazelnuts , they look more natural . Just slightly crack them first so they are easy for the squirrel to open, overall its a lovely image.!

This image caught my eye from the start. deer are one of the best animals to work so well small in a frame. This image is very well composed, I just love the angle of the tree which creates a nice focal point within the image. The colours in the sky are nice and subtle, which enhances the overall feel nicely. Great Pic!

The angle on this image is amazing, It is such a good reminder for all of us to try different and unusual compositions when out taking pictures. Excellent work, just love the fur and whiskers on that nose. depth of field and exposure are spot on. Would like to see more pictures like this with different animals. :)

The UK has a great Variety of Mammals. From the very common to the extremely rare and elusive, Wild Mammals present a real challenge for photographers. These can be photographs from your own doorstep and back garden, or brief encounters in the countryside. Try to look for photographs that show an animal's natural/unique behaviour or which highlight its character, as these will stand out from the crowd.
