This image has a beautifully rich colour palette that is interesting and captivating, and definitely caught my attention at first glance.
Photographing rooms like these can be challenging as they tend to be dark, but the photographer did a great job here. They exposed the shot in a way that made the room appear well and evenly lit, but not too bright to make the room lose its old charm or wash out the colours.
The perfect detail is that the beautiful view past the window is well visible, adding incredible value and charm to the shot. Well done!
I was instantly drawn to this image. It's interesting, eery, suggestive, and it reminds of a set from Game Of Thrones.
With the Chateau, the focal point, positioned quite up and to one side, this image has slightly unusual composition. But it works because the Chateau (on the top left) is well balanced by the rock formation (on the bottom right). The water looks perfectly still, like under a magic spell, and the low clouds over the mountains further enhance the eery mood of the shot. A fantastic capture that truly deserves first place. Well done!

The first thing that caught my eye about this image is its eye-pleasing symmetry. Even though there are so many elements to this photo, the perfectly straight-on angle it was shot from makes the image look tidy and beautiful. I love the way flowers frame the shot, both on the heaving arch at the top and the smaller flowers at the bottom corners of the frame. And last but not least, I find the subtle pastel colour palette very beautiful to look at, the added contrast making the colours 'pop' nicely. A great shot, well done!

**This contest is open to photographers ranked 1000+ in this week’s Leaderboard.** A contest that could equally have been titled ‘Big Homes’. Ever since some people were richer than others, they’ve chosen to live in bigger and more impressive dwellings. The architectural marvels that have been designed and built over the years can truly wow, and a day spent exploring the buildings and grounds of a large estate is easily spent with camera in hand. Images of large domestic dwellings from any part of the world, and of both exteriors and interiors, are welcomed.
