I love the overall feel of this image. It's not just the car that evokes a feeling of nostalgia, but the colour palette, the dress and the lighting. It's nice to see something quite subtly lit, with obvious thought going into it.

Really nicely done.

There were an awful lot of camel images submitted for this competition, but this one in particular stood out. There had been obvious thought regarding location and composition. The reflection of the sky onto the wet sand certainly lifts the overall image, rather than having it dulled by sand alone. And the reflections of the camel train again only adds to the image. This particular image stood out head and shoulders amongst so many came images. Well done.

I love the empathy quite evident here, between rider and horse. The composition has had a great deal of thought and the execution is impeccable. The post processing definitely adds to the image, and I'm certain it wouldn't have the same impact without the painterly feel to it.

Gorgeous image!

I like the very subtle palette, and the slow loss of contrast into the background. Both of which helps to create a warm and calming image. I also like the way the three boats in foreground create a leading line towards the moored boats in the background. Nicely shot and processed.

I've often admired aviation images, particularly as it isn't something I've had an opportunity to capture. There have been several aviation images to judge, but this particular image really caught my attention. I love the colour palette with the warm clouds. I also like the attitude of the helicopter. Not entirely sure if it's a model or not, it's certainly well done, either way. The only thing that hints at a model is the light on the helicopter, whereas the clouds are backlit. Doesn't matter, because it's a damned good image.

Moving ourselves around at speeds quicker than we can manage with our own feet has been something that humans have managed with great effectiveness. In this broad contest, all modes of transport are fair game, from walking to spaceships, via bicycles, planes, trains, cars and many others.

There's a number of things I like about this image. It has an almost abstract feel to it, and it can take a little while to fully appreciate what we are looking at. The low mist lying in the valley adds intrigue, with the car lights telling their own story.

Really nicely done

I like the inferred passage of time, indicated by the boat wrecks and also the movement in the clouds. The monochrome adds to the overall mood of the image, which I'm certain would not have worked even half as well if it had been submitted in colour. Photoshop novice, or not; it's obvious you put a lot of thought into the composition and how you wanted your image to look. And it's certainly paid off.

I like the cleanliness of this image, with its subdued palette. composition is strong, and I think the slightly warm tones of the cloud help draw attention to the main subject, the rain. I also like the fact it takes a little while to notice the driver

Astro photography isn't something I've tried. Well, not for over forty years. But I do recognise a well executed image. I like the clean reflection of the boat, and the clarity of the clouds and stars. Certainly adds a lot to the image, and it's impeccably executed. Really nicely done

I'm unsure if the water was originally this colour, or if it's been altered in post production. It doesn't actually matter, as the overall finished image is really quite striking, and that's down to the composition, and the use of colour. Beautifully conceived and executed

It's not that often you see automotive client shoots at night. Mainly because they aren't quite as easy, and they tend not to carry the same sort of appeal for the client. Nice to see an image that bucks the trend. Very strong composition, with the subject isolated really nicely with the shallow depth of field. Very nicely done

This is just beautiful! Very reminiscent of the war, and composed and shot to mimic it. Really nicely lit, either by available light or additional, I'm not entirely sure. But it makes no odds, the execution of the image, and the follow up post processing has recreated a very authentic 1940s image

This manages to convey all the drama and excitement associated with sailing. It's an usual viewpoint, and I very much doubt a different composition would work even half as well. Really nicely conceived and executed, with little to no post processing required. Well done

I think this is the only paragliding image submitted. Nicely composed and shot, bringing a real air of freedom to the viewer. I like the way the viewer naturally follows the route of the motor glider across the frame to the sunset. It's a beautiful image
