Mosaics are an art form in which pieces of coloured stone, tile or glass, etc, are embedded into a substrate to form a piece of art. Whilst many show pictorial content, in other cultures patterns, text and geometric shapes are used. In this contest I am looking for photos which show the quality and characteristics of mosaics. You may show all or part of a mosaic of any size and type, eg, wall, floor, panel etc, and the mosaic can be of any age. Whatever and however you choose to present your image, the mosaic must be the obvious subject. Entries can be in colour or black and white. I hope to see some new and creative images.
In the interests of fairness I ask that you do not submit images incorporating any means of identification such as a digital signature, banner or text.
Every photo submitted will be available for the crowd to rate once the submissions period has ended. You can see all the images uploaded to a contest, but will need to rate them to see how they’re ranked once the rating period begins.
Some contests on Photocrowd also have a judge. After the submission period closes the judge chooses their favourite images and writes some image reviews. The crowd and judge results will be announced on the same day.
