For this competition I wanted images that were eye catching and portray a story of motherhood, and this image absolutely nailed it

This image is so emotionally charged, you can see it in their expressions. The dirt on the faces, the innocence of the child, the tears of the mother trying to shelter her child from the struggles and the use of black and white makes the image all that more striking

A good shot and I love the double exposure idea as it can make images a lot more striking - however in this instance I found it difficult to distinguish the two faces from each other so I would suggest changing the composition to make the subjects stand out better. Perhaps having the subjects at the edges of the frame and facing each other rather than being in the center and looking out away from each other A great effort though

I like the simplicity in this image. Just the hands with no distractions, the baby holding onto their parent for safety - its makes the image quite striking I feel a little more contrast could have helped to make the hands stand out that little bit more

I like the use of negative space here, sometimes minimal is better - and to do it on your own with a one year makes it more impressive

My only suggestions here would be a little more contrast to make you stand out from the white background more and a slightly tighter crop - i.e. cut the top off and make it a 3x4 with your arm on the bottom third line, this would give a little more balance to the image

I fell in love with it at first glance

The composition is beautiful, it draws you in to the scene and the cannula in the subject's nose tells the whole story The white clothing also helps greatly, creating a lot of negative space that doesn't distract from the narrative of a mother and her daughter
