A horse bolts from an ambushing wolf as it pounces in to the frame They bound across the fields, jumping the hedgerows and fences, dodging the clouds as they head off in to the trees. Obviously not, but when you witness the wonderful motions of a murmuration, all manner of shapes and stories unfold as you watch one of natures most wonderful moving spectacles. Some speculate the shapes may even be collective consciousness as giant bird shapes are often witnessed as the birds evade predation before roosting. A lovely photograph, I like the grain. PJB
So much drama on such a small scale that when we get close enough feels like a grand battle. The delicate blobs of moss give us a sense of scale as the Kingfishers franticly bicker, their colours becoming fluid and blured by the sheer speed of their movements. They almost look as if they're parrying and spinning around the branch to get the better advantage. A great moment captured well here. PJB

**This contest is open to photographers ranked between 251 and 1000 in this week’s Leaderboard.** Nature is a broad term, which for the purposes of our contests refers to the natural world, but excluding humans, or depictions and evidence of human activity. Movement in nature is found all around us, from our gardens and local parks, to distant lands we may have travelled to, so this is a theme that should truly be open to all. How you choose to interpret and show movement in nature is for you alone to decide.

Motion in photography can be a challenge to capture. On a macro scale the challenges are arguably even greater. A whole new world unfolds when we look a little closer and this photo is a great example of that. Pin sharp where it matters with just enough delay to give us a chance to get a feel of how fast those wings are beating, masterfully captured. Absolutely wonderful colours of this formidable wasp as it moves through the air with food to share with the rest of the colony. Congrats. PJB
