This is definitely a unique shot. I can't tell whether this mushroom is growing up and out of a tree, or whether this mushroom is drooping and growing sideways out of a log on the ground. It appears to be very healthy and growing well and so I don't think that it was be drooping, so I am guessing that it was growing out of a tree which makes this photo very different because almost all of the photos in this contest were of mushrooms growing out of logs on the ground, or out of dirt.

I love how the soft background light illuminates the mushroom and shines through the gills in back. This is also great because is draws our eyes to the mushroom more because of that part of it being highlighted.

The other plants and funguses growing out of this tree/log are beautiful too. They are all green and give more color to this picture.

The background is also wonderful with the big round bokeh and soft colors.

Wonderful job on your tenth place image!

This is a very beautiful and moody image. The mushrooms have the brightest colors out of everything here which is great because it makes them stand out the most.

I love how much detail there is on the mushrooms! The caps are very sharp and it's great that they are because this is the main thing that the viewer would look at. You can see every detail, and there are surprisingly lots of them between the two mushrooms here.

I love how many different colors are in this photo, they are partly muted and that's probably something you did when you edited it, but you can still see them very well and it's great that they are all there because it makes the photo much more beautiful.

This is a nice simple macro image of two mushrooms, many gorgeous colors, and great shallow depth of field. I absolutely love the way you captured it. Wonderful job on your second place image.

Your photo here is very unique in the way that you captured the mushrooms. I love how you photographed them with their gills facing the camera and the outside light shining through which lets you see so many details and beautiful patterns on them. The gills of mushrooms are kind of the most intricate and beautiful part of them and you have captured them amazingly here.

I also love the ground and all of the little things growing on it.

The background is pretty with the colors, the brightness of it, and the bokeh.

You did an awesome job on the way that you captured everything here. Keep it up!

Congratulations on your eighth place photo!

This is a wonderful photograph that is very bright, lively and beautiful.

I love the way you captured this photo. Whether you had to edit it to get it to have such a bright and happy effect to it, or whether you just got lucky and captured it on a bright sunny day doesn't matter, you did a fabulous job on getting it to look this way.

One of the main things of this photo, and one of the main reasons why it is such a great photo is, besides the mushroom, the frog! How often do you see a frog on a mushroom? Almost never, I've never seen a picture of a frog being on a mushroom. This was a very rare coincidence and you captured it perfectly. It also appears that the entire image kind of has a blurriness to it, but the frog doesn't have any of that. It is completely in focus and very sharp which is great because it lets us see all of its beautiful details and colors.

The mushroom is nice and stands out with its darker colors that it has compared to the bright green color that surrounds and engulfs this image. You can't see tons of detail of it because I can tell you wanted to make the frog a more important feature in this photograph which is completely understandable. However, it is still in focus and you can still see a good amount of it.

This is an absolutely wonderful image that you did a great job on capturing. Congratulations on your seventh place image.

This is a gorgeous picture that, even though it is macro, you have managed to capture many things in it.

The mushrooms first of all are very beautiful and interesting. I love how they are all growing in different directions and sizes and have many beautiful colors. The background is a simple but beautiful green which always makes the mushrooms which are in front of it, show up fabulously. Then at the bottom of the picture there are tons of little plants and funguses growing, so many that it is hard to look at all of them since there is something growing in almost every spot!

I love the angle at which you captured the mushrooms at. You got low enough to where you can see the caps but also the gills still, and you have placed them right in the center of your photograph which makes them the main thing of it.

Fabulous job on the way that you captured everything here and for your sixth place photo!

Your photo here is very beautiful, sharp, and lively with the bright background colors.

What cool type of mushroom! You did a great job capturing it very close up and making sure every detail of it was captured. It's hair-like things that cover it are growing in so many directions, and that is one thing that really makes this photo different from the rest, most mushrooms just grow in smooth shapes, this one has tons of rough ends and jagged edges, this also gives us more to look at.

The background is great too! This photo must have been taken in Autumn for there to have that many colors, unless you placed some kind of colorful paper behind it or something. Whatever you did, it came out fabulous and really makes this photo lively and beautiful. I should also add that it is great that the background is a different shade of orange as this makes the mushroom stand out and not blend too much into the background.

After looking at the beautiful mushroom and the background, you look down and notice all of those interesting details down there. The part of the mushroom that connects to the wood looks really cool, there appears to be a moistness on the log, and there are circular things all over the wood which must be some other type of fungus growing too.

Amazing job on this stunning image and congratulations on taking a photo worthy of winning my contest!

This is a great shot that really focuses on the details of this mushroom.

Besides all of the things on the ground and the black background, the mushroom is the biggest and most important part of the image, and you have captured it very well. I love how you have photographed it from a low enough angle to get lots of its gills, but also have captured its cap as well. The gills, like on all mushrooms are very beautiful. They also lead our eyes up to the top of the mushroom. The top of the mushroom is beautiful and smooth, but also has little tiny holes and patterns all over it. The last thing to mention is the stem. It looks a lot similar to wood or a tree trunk. It is also smooth but has many different lines and cuts in it.

I really love the way that you captured this mushroom in this photo and made it the only thing in the photograph so that we'd have to really pay attention to it and notice all of its beautiful details and colors.

Great job on your fifth place photo.

You have captured a beautiful mushroom in a very gorgeous way here.

I love your creativity and that you did the work of getting yourself into just the right angle to capture it from underneath and facing up to get the light shining through the mushroom. Mushroom gills are so incredibly beautiful and you get to see every detail of this mushroom's gills.

The main thing that is good about this photo is the predominant blue color. It is EVERYWHERE in this photo and it is great because besides blue being such a beautiful color, it is very unique for a mushroom to be blue, especially this bright of a blue!

Great job on finding this mushroom, capturing it the way that you did, and getting ninth place!

I love how much there is to this photo. There are many mushrooms all growing together, many broken off parts and different colors on the wood, moss growing all over, and a beautiful background. This gives us a lot to look at and it is nice how each thing from the next thing is a completely different color which lets our eyes be able to sort out the image and tell each part apart very easily. It's great how this scene worked out like this for the photograph. I love the color of those mushrooms, they have sort of a pink tint to them which is pretty rare I think with mushrooms, I haven't seen too many pictures before of mushrooms this color which is another thing that really makes this photo nice.

This is a fabulous macro image of some beautiful mushrooms that has many amazing colors and details to it. Great job on capturing everything and getting third place!
