Little did I know when I set this comp just how hard judging it would be. There were many images that I put into my top ten that I thought was very nicely captured, this image of Glistening Inkcaps growing amongst the moss in a wood I do like a lot. I note how the photographer has got eye level with the fungi, whether this is by getting down on knees in the mud or the fact the fungi was growing at a nice comfortable high for him I wouldn't know but its just shows that for this type of photograph you need to get dirty sometime. This detail captured here is beautiful from the Glistening of the caps to the moss they are growing in. The background again is nicely Burred the fact the photographer has got all the group of fungi in the picture is another good sign of a well captured study
This is a wonderful example of using light and getting down and dirty to get the correct angle for the picture of this wonderfully captured fungi The backlighting I think is from the sun and maybe the photographer got lucky with that. I like the gills and now they appear transparent, the background has been nicely burred and there isn't anything distracting in the foreground so that's the viewers eye is on the main subject of the fungi . A very nice study of a mushroom, well done
This a brilliance captured study of Fungi the focus is pin sharp on the subject, the light I magical and very well controlled giving a excellence burred green background. I like the porcelain look of this fungi, its does look as if its made from Porcelain. Putting the fungi off centre is a excellence way of focusing the viewers eye drawing it to the detail of this fungi. I like this a lot, and cant honestly think of how it could be better captured or bettered. A super capture very well done

Autumn is a super time for Mushrooms and Toadstools, the cold dark nights and wet weather bring out theses Fungi in the countryside. For this Comp I would like to see your images of Mushrooms and Toadstools TAKEN OUTDOORS PLEASE. Try and capture the full mushroom or toadstool and please make your mushroom or toadstool the main subject matter. Please remember that some mushrooms and toadstools are poisonous and shouldn't be touched, let alone eaten. So if you cant identify them please don't pick them.
Again another example of getting down low to get a perfect view of the Gills and underside of the fungi. The focus is very sharp capturing every detail of the mushroom, I am not sure the species although I have a very good idea having found one like this myself awhile ago. The background is nicely out of focus and burred with all the attention on the fungi, this is one image that was very hard to actually drop from my top ten and I cant think of now it could have been better taken... very well done
This was a very hard comp to judge and this was one such image I found myself going back to time after time while judging. The fungi is very nicely Captured with brilliance focus on the ribs capturing all the detail. I like the colour of this fungi, one I don't think I have come across in my many fungi forays. The photographer has again got down to eye level to capture this image, the background is nicely burred out drawing all the attention of the viewer to the subject matter... again well done
