Are these two old men standing on solid ice?! Whereabouts was this photo taken?
You've captured the subject/environment balance perfectly. The huge mountains standing tall behind the men who are precariously playing their instruments on top of, what I assume, is thick ice. The lovely low winter light is also hitting the men in such a way that really highlights their presence within a shot where you should be distracted by the jaw dropping surroundings.
A truly brilliant image!
Meet the expert judge
Timing is perfect on this one! Even the singer looks like he's looking in the direction on the hand-heart gesture. Capturing those small interactions with the crowd and band really can make your shoot go from 0 to 100 real quick.
I've noticed the phone behind the hands too and trying to shoot exactly what you've shot which brings up and interesting question. Should the crowd leave the photos to the professionals and really take in what's in front of them? Everybody wants their own personal part of the night on their phone but I can't but think that this photo would absolutely do that for somebody.
Great photo!
This is an interesting one! I have never shot something like this but I find it super interesting and executed very well.
I've never photographed a composer before but I can't imagine it's that enthralling to shoot as he/she is stuck in one spot for the entire show. You've managed to capture the movement and energy fantastically well by using a slow shutter speed. Did you use a tripod at all? I think this photo would be absolutely perfect if the immediate area around him was still with just the composer in motion.
Great imagination for this one.
Sometimes it's not all about capturing the most insane parts of the night. When offered opportunities like this with beautiful light it's up to us to capture it correctly and you've smashed it here.
I really like the composition of the image. The darkness on each side of the light brings out an emphasis on the subject in the middle. It starts to look like a Hollywood UFO beam if you look at it long enough!
Keep it up!

Music is about more than just what you hear. Truly great music allows listeners (and performers) to lose all their inhibitions and enter into a kind of euphoria that makes for wonderful and genuine material for photographers. Whether your subjects are dancing, playing or simply listening, we'd like you to send us your 'Music moments'.
The longer that I shoot music for the more adamant I'm becoming about how important the crowd are at shows. When you look around exhibitions by the likes of Annie Leibovitz and sure, the photos of The Rolling Stones themselves are great but it's the crowd shots that get me. The fashion, the facial expressions and pure unawareness of the camera.
This photo channels all of the above brilliantly. The old school punks who have probably had the same leather jacket on for 40 years and most possibly still listening to the same records. They're mesmerised by what's happening and love that you've captured them without them knowing whatsoever.
Really strong photo!
