This is a superb image taken with good use of density filters, allowing the sea and cloud movement to be stilled creating the visual impact of drawing immediate attention to the old boat ruin. The line and position of the subject is well placed and the fine detail on the wood on the boat is lovely. The reflection on the water makes this image stand out, and the capture by the author could not have got any better line on this subject. Well done.

This image has got a lot of strong and eerie atmosphere in it, and has been very well captured with an overall feel of what the competition is all about, nature taking control. The strike of lighting is brilliantly captured.

Simple effective picture, good control of density filter on the sea, and nice sky. Placement of the old wheels ok, but for me this image could have been improved by making it a landscape shape, not square and cutting out the rock in the foreground. There is too much space on the right of the picture before the main visual impact which is the wheels and beyond.

This is a lovely softly controlled picture merging the main colour across all elements, leaving the car and sky blending in perfectly.

Lovely black and white picture. The silhouette of the fisherman casting his net is well thought out and captured with great detail and dramatic effect demonstrating good use of camera control.

Nature is the most powerful force on the planet, despite millennia of humans trying to tame it. If we disappeared tomorrow, it would take no time at all before our cities, roadways and intricate infrastructures were crawling with plants and animals. You can see this on a small scale in abandoned lots and derelict buildings. Give us your own example of ‘Nature Taking Control’ for this contest.
