The exposure, composition, focus and colour balance are really well achieved and you've captured an intimate and lovely moment! If you want to reproduce this image on a larger scale I'd consider using noise removal software to clean up the background grain slightly, but it definitely doesn't detract from the image at all.
I really love this image: the shape draws you in and it works incredibly well in black and white. The focus and exposure is well done and the composition is really appealing. I'd consider increasing the exposure ever so slightly on the bedding to isolate the cat even more, but this is a personal preference.

Welcome to Photocrowd’s ‘Animals’ contest for New Joiners! These contests are a chance for new members to introduce their photography to the community, and get a taste of how Photocrowd contests work. They can be entered by anyone within their first 28 days of joining Photocrowd. After 100 images have been submitted the contest closes and the Crowd will start rating the images. The Expert Judge will also be judging the images and writing reviews at the same time. All the winners, both Crowd and Expert, will be announced after 3 days of judging. Make sure you also check out our two other New Joiners contests - ‘People’ and ‘Landscapes’.

The light in the rainforest is extremely difficult to work with and the fact that the Gorillas are black makes capturing a well exposed image all the more difficult, but it's been well achieved here. The high ISO settings aren't damaging the image quality, the colour palette is lovely and whilst a wider depth of field would have helped get the young one in focus, the settings were already pushed to their limit!
I love the perspective and expressions on this image as the personality of both dogs really seems to shine through. The exposure and focus is spot on and the colour palette is natural and appealing. Whilst it's not possible in this image due to the crop, I'd advise trying to ensure the horizon is straight in images, but I can fully appreciate how awkward it can be photographing pets at the best of times to have to think about this too!
