The colours on this image are simply divine with every hue popping vibrantly without being oversaturated. The focus is spot on and the light works really well to highlight the eagle against the bokeh background. I'd consider using noise reduction software if you intend to reproduce this image on a larger scale to clean the background up.

Welcome to Photocrowd’s ‘Animals’ contest for New Joiners! These contests are a chance for new members to introduce their photography to the community, and get a taste of how Photocrowd contests work. They can be entered by anyone within their first 28 days of joining Photocrowd. After 100 images have been submitted the contest closes and the Crowd will start rating the images. I really like how this image works as an optical illusion as it certainly fooled me! It works well with this aspect ratio and the contrast pops well in black and white. I'd consider increasing the depth of field slightly more if attempted again to see if you can get the reflections in focus too, but this can be challenging with mirrors.

I really love the crop and perspective on this image as it works very well compositionally. The focus is crisp with the background not introducing any distracting elements. The colour palette is warm and aesthetically pleasing. I'd consider cropping out the blown highlights at the top corners of the image: this might be best achieved by changing the aspect ratio so you don't crop the edges of the gorilla out.

What a cracking view of this stunning Amur leopard! You've captured a great pose with the entire animal included and the focus looks great even when shooting through glass. The reflections are pretty minimal but sometimes a polarising filter or hiding under your coat against the glass can remove them entirely!

I really like the reflection in this image, with the small patch of pink on the flamingo really standing out from the otherwise muted surroundings. The focus looks good but I'd consider increasing the exposure slightly so we can really appreciate the details on the subject!

I love the light on this image and how it perfectly highlights the kittens face and stunning eyes. The colour really pops, especially against the pastel, muted colours in the surroundings. The focus is crisp and the composition works well, but try not to crop out body parts if you can help it!

The foreground bars work really well to frame this subject and their muted colours make them look more like foliage with the additional golden branch. The focus is perfectly crisp and I love how well the colour on the bird pops from the surroundings.

I love how the side lighting helps to highlight every intricate detail on this lizards scales and the composition works well to draw your eyes into the image. I'd consider increasing the exposure ever so slightly to bring more detail out.

What a stunning bird! I love how the blue and yellow around the face really stands out which is helped further with the crisp focus. When photographing a subject with harsh contrast, it's often best to expose for the highlights to avoid blowing any details.

This image almost feels as if it is a painting and I love how the fish both blends in but also pops from the surroundings (how'd you manage that?!). The colour palette is muted but this works really well and some of the foreground seaweed helps to frame the image.

The framing from the tree and branches works really well to draw your eye into the main subject. The colours really pop against the muted surroundings and the focus is crisp and sharp. You chose your depth of field well to avoid introducing any distracting elements to the image.

I absolutely adore this perspective, especially with the horse in the background. The focus is perfectly crisp and your choice of aperture means the entire foreground horse is perfectly in focus and the exposure is spot on despite it looking to be a bright day.

The wide angle on this image works really well and I think the contrast is fantastic in black and white. The horizon is perfectly straight which can sometimes be overlooked and the dog fits in perfectly with the rule of thirds.

The composition on this image works really well, helped further by the low angle and adherence to the 'rule' of thirds. The colours in the background don't distract but instead add an additional element to the image. I'd consider reducing the exposure slightly to bring back some detail on the subject.
