You've used the foreground foliage well here to partially frame this image and draw you into this handsome racoon. The exposure, depth of field and colour palette are all spot on and the focus looks good. Try to ensure you have a faster shutter speed when photographing moving subjects to avoid motion blur.
I really love the composition and framing in this image, with the shallow depth of field isolating the middle duck whilst you still have context of the surroundings and a cheeky character in the background! The colour palette is warm and aesthetically pleasing with good exposure and focus.

Welcome to Photocrowd’s ‘Animals’ contest for New Joiners! These contests are a chance for new members to introduce their photography to the community, and get a taste of how Photocrowd contests work. They can be entered by anyone within their first 28 days of joining Photocrowd. After 100 images have been submitted the contest closes and the Crowd will start rating the images. The Expert Judge will also be judging the images and writing reviews at the same time. All the winners, both Crowd and Expert, will be announced after 3 days of judging. Make sure you also check out our two other New Joiners contests - ‘People’ and ‘Landscapes’.

Centralising your subject in wildlife photography isn't always wise but when you have a form of symmetry or direct eye contact it can be the best option as you've shown here! I love the expression and with no distractions in the foreground or background you're instantly drawn into this comical character!
