I love how the other subjects act as a perfect natural frame in this image, giving you both context of what’s happening but without being a distraction. The expression is comical and aesthetically pleasing along with good focus, depth and exposure.

This image works well with the great contrast and high key effect. The exposure is good as it can be easy to underexpose images like this with snow and end up with grungy, dirty looking snow. Try and get your subject to look into the frame when composing to maximise its potential.

I love the detail you’ve captured in this image and with no distracting elements in the foreground and background you can really explore every inch of the dragonfly which keeps you engaged as a viewer. The exposure is good and the colour palette is natural and aesthetically pleasing.

I love how you can see a genuine connection in this image between the camel and boy as it adds a narrative to the image, making it more engaging. The composition, exposure, focus and depth of field are all spot on.

Those incredible aqua eyes really draw you into the centre of this image and keep you fixated and engaged as a viewer. The clean, bright background helps to draw you in further and enhances the contrast and detail on the subject.

With the contrast and differences from the subject to the background I think it was a wise choice to convert this image to black and white as it increases that separation and draws you in. Whilst this may break some compositional guidelines, it shows why they’re made to be broken as it works really well.

The framing and composition of this image is spot on with both subjects looking into the frame and empty space to draw you in and keep you engaged. The exposure is good although I’d consider increasing the contrast slightly to enhance the detail and ‘pop’ of the image.

The shallow depth of field on this image ensures that no distractions are introduced from the background but it also enhances the pop of that vibrant red and yellow. When using close crops like this, try not to cut off edges or parts of the subject like the forehead for a more aesthetically pleasing composition.

What a fantastic composition and that piercing stare & vibrant eyes just keeps you fixated on the image. The shallow depth of field gives great separation and enhances the details and marking on this handsome leopard and the exposure and colour palette are spot on.

I love the moody and contrasted colour palette on this image as it really helps to draw you into the main subject. The composition is good with the subjects body pointing into the frame which helps keep people engaged and looking at your image.

I absolutely love the moody, atmospheric feel of this image as it makes it more engaging and very aesthetically pleasing. Showing context of the surroundings also adds to the narrative and the flying guillemot definitely completes the image and composition.

Sometimes the simplest of images are the most engaging as there are no distracting elements to draw you away from the main subject. I love the separation between the duck and the background, both due to the shallow depth of field but also the colour.
