What a unique moment that's captured between these two Elephants. The trunks interlocking and the raw facial expressions really stand out for me when looking at his image. The black and white conversion and high key exposure are great choices as there's so much texture to emphasize without any background distraction.

This is an absolutely adorable image and makes you smile immediately. Exposure and all technical aspects of the image are fine, but it's all about the moment here between the Mother Koala and her young one. The mother's expression is one of love and caring and the young one is quite cute. Well done capturing an exception moment of interaction!

I really enjoy the overall feel of this image as well as the technical execution by the photographer to execute their vision. The flight pattern forms a diagonal line leaving the frame and the use of the window is a nice touch. There's something of a biblical feel to the shot.

This must have been an incredible thing to see up close and bravo for having a camera handy to capture the moment. I've seen Humpback Whales breach before but never from such a close distance. The water coming out of is mouth is definitely a plus to see due to the intimacy of the event.

I really enjoy animal images that tell a story for an audience without the need for a wordy description. It's quite clear what this dog is craving and the expression is very cute to boot. The red tongue is a nice touch and the empty bowls below fill in the blanks for the viewer.

This shot definitely works well in the humor category. You can't help but smile as the seal appears to laugh while the Oystercatcher is working hard to find its next meal. Clearly someone is having a bit more fun than the other on this particular day. You get the sense they might even be friends.

Elephants are so charismatic and it's always important to have the camera ready as you never know what's coming next. A faster shutter speed was the right choice as it freezes the mud coming from the trunk in a. very pleasing way that emphasizes texture and shape. Bath time must be a lot of fun for this group.

The colors in this fly image are fantastic to include the purple tones dominate the frame. The water droplets add to the image and bring you in to look more closely at the reflections. The pano like crop was a good choice based on the length of the flower petal.

Wow, talk about seeing the food chain right in front of your eyes. The Kingfisher's feeding behavior already makes the image stand out, but the mosquito on the fish takes it to the next level. The colors are well processed, depth of field is perfect, and composition is very strong. Well done!

I love the chaos that's created in this image with all of the power lines criss crossing each other and how they envelope the monkey. The black and white conversion works well here as it eliminates any color distraction and brings attention to shape and texture. An interesting story is told here.

A very sweet moment is captured here and the look on the chick immediately catches the viewer's attention upon first glance. The depth of field is just right as the distractions are limited and the subtle colors are also pleasing. Always nice to see the next generation of any animal species.

I really like when an image shows the contrast between the life of an animal versus our own. The vertical composition is great here as it compliments the dog's height and also includes subway trains coming and going on both edges of the frame. The dog looks a bit confused, but can you blame him?

Minimalism can be used quite effectively in animal photography and what better place than the desert to try it. The long shadow of the camel is a nice prize when studying the image as well the objects in the distance. The vignette works as your eyes are drawn in toward the subject.
