New Joiners - Animals #711

February 2024

I love the dynamic light and colour you've captured in this image as it really draws you into the main subject whilst still giving us enough context for the surrounding habitat. The colour palette is warm and aesthetically pleasing with a great composition.

I love the high key nature of this image and just how much detail you've captured in the feathers, which can be difficult to do with corvids. The iridescent shine is fabulous and I love the detail on the face. This could also work as a square crop.

You have so much going on this image, but none of it is detrimental or distracting which is fantastic. I love how you've captured the 3 subjects in some form of symmetry and the the colours pop really well from the background.

I really like this image and how the two grazing subjects either side of the main one frame him well. This is another image I think would work well as a square crop as the foreground doesn't 'add' much to the image.

I love the variety of warm colours in this image and how the angle of light highlights the whiskers and antlers of this handsome buck. The tree, paired with the grass acts as a gorgeous, natural frame drawing you into the image.

The warm colour palette on this image is truly exceptional and I love the eye contact you've captured with several of the subjects. This is a difficult image to set a horizon on due to the line in the background and the line on the water but I think you've done a good job.

The composition is good with the subject flying into the frame to draw you in. It will always be a personal preference but I like capturing a bit of motion blur in the wings as it adds a sense of movement and speed, which you've achieved well here.

The amount of detail you've captured here is fantastic, with the 'harsh' light enhancing the fur, face and whiskers. I love the catchlight in the eyes and how you've used the foreground and background to frame the kitten with great bokeh.

The contrast between the subject and the surroundings is fabulous here and I like the centralised composition despite it not having perfect 'symmetry'. Whilst this image would work in black and white, I like the subtle warm colours on the face.

I really like this image for several reasons: the expression you've captured on the subjects face is really engaging and the colours haven't been pushed too far in post processing, yet they still pop and look natural. A very slight crop from the top right corner could enhance the image further.

The snow in this scene really enhances the depth and atmosphere o the image and I love how the foxes eyes glance towards the camera with plenty of action going on. The colour palette is warm, aesthetically pleasing but not overdone.

I love the variety of colours in this image which contrast well with the cool and warm hues from the background to the subject. If you were looking to change this image up, I think it would work really well as a square crop too.

I love the colours you've captured in this image with the warm hues contrasting so well against the wintery background. The pose is fabulous and the snow being flicked into the air adds to the depth and feel of the image.

I like the separation you've captured between the subject and the background with the shallow depth of field and the light and colours are gorgeous. The composition is well done and I love how the shutter speed has frozen things well with a tiny bit of movement still evident in the water.
