What a stunning scene! I thoroughly enjoy shooting lone trees myself and the colour of this gorgeous tree really grabs the eye. It's not just the tree though, the whole scene is well considered by the photographer, leaving enough space for a really balanced scene. The barb wire fence also adds another element of interest to the scene, and while some might not like the added man made element I feel it works nicely drawing my eye towards the centrepiece.
This was the first waterfall scene I have viewed in the new joiner conceptions, and what a good one it is. It's clear that this photographer has a good understanding of processing and has used a vignette in this scene to draw the attention directly to the waterfall. An excellent scene, congratulations.
This is a lovely misty morning scene and a deserving winner in this new joiners competition. The gorgeous blue toning helped by the frosted textures of the grass really make this a beautiful image. I'm also really impressed with the subtle processing of this image, well done and congratulations.
I just love the framing of this shot and it shows with careful thought you can produce a much more engaging image with framing or foreground interest. Visually this makes for a very interesting shot, if this is somewhere the photographer can visit again I'd suggest maybe going of a morning or an evening to hopefully get some more striking light.
A lovely moment captured skilfully by the photographer. I love images with atmosphere and this one has bags of it. This image has been taken during some stormy weather and it really lends itself to the scenery. The misty rain in the distance really gives a sense of depth and helps separate the boat nicely. Overall it's a really dramatic scene and a firm favourite from the entries.
I really liked this image and it was close to making my top 10. The autumn colours are lovely and the rising mist really elevates the scene. If I was to offer a little advice it would be to pay attention to your histogram when shooting and editing. For me the mist is a little too bright on this occasion, but it's still a beautiful shot.
