I like the composition here, just feel that it's processed a little heavy. I'm a fan of the square crop, the tree is framed well and it's a balanced image. The vignette is very heavy and coupled with the halos around the tree it just takes away the natural look of the dales.

A busy scene but still nice to look at. The reflections look nice, it would have been nice to maybe see a bit more reflection but I guess you're governed by how close you can get and the reeds in the way. Compositionally it's balanced and exposed pretty well, nice job.

I like the thought process behind using a longer focal length to compress the scene a bit. It's difficult to visualise the scene shot with a wide angle without knowing the distance between you and the bridge. The sky looks good, I do think the photo is overall a bit underexposed, it could have done with being a bit brighter especially in the shadows as the detail is lost in the darkness.

I like this a lot, I also like that you've persevered and returned time and time again to get the image. The winding road through the image looks great, choosing the right angle for this kind of shot is super important as get it wrong and it just looks like a random shot of a road but if you get it right which you have then it really draws the eye through. If I'm being picky, I think you could probably have got away with a lighter grad filter across the sky. Nice job overall! :)

Mountain haze is great for revealing and showing off layers in the hills. This looks tremendous, it makes me wish I was there to photograph it too. I like that you can't see anything man made in this photo too, it gives a great sense of freedom!

This is a really pretty scene, great reflections and a super subject. Without the exif or details about the shot it's difficult to know what it was taken on etc. The sky is a bit overexposed and I think it could have been processed a little more sympathetically. Lower the contrast a little and lighten the shadows and it'll look spot on! Still, it looks a wonderful place and I'm glad you entered it as it's not a bad shot by any stretch of the imagination!

What a beautiful image. Really simple and clean. I love the blue tones, the layers really pop out! Telephoto landscapes aren't easy, they require a fair bit of thought to make them work and this is a great example of a well thought out one! Nice one and a worthy winner :)

That sky is fantastic, a landscape photographers dream. I'd have lightened the shadows as the sunflowers are very dark, and it could do with a little bit of clockwise rotation to level out the horizon at the top of the flowers!

HiJack, I'm super torn with this image. Compositionally it's exceptional and if I was to base it on just that I think this would probably have been number one. However, the HDR style processing is what stopped me. I quite like the muted colours but there are halos around the clouds and trees which spoil it a little. I think with a bit more careful processing you would have an incredible image here. Still, the number 2 slot ain't too bad!

This has a really great mood, I've seen photos from here in all sorts of weather and dark foreboding skies always look the best. Nice composition, it's balanced and there's nothing that distracts you from the scene. The colour in the water is fantastic, all in all a great shot and I'm sure there's some great memories attached to it.

A tremendous shot for being taken on a phone, it's exposed well and the colours are nice. I'd have been tempted to crop from the top right so that the sun was central, all the "rules" say don't have things centrally placed bla bla bla but I think it'd look awesome. Nice job :)

I'm not quite sure what you've done to this after taking it but it looks very odd. Try and consider how the scene looked, and process your image to compliment the conditions. This appears that you have attempted to create a particular look from an otherwise normal sky.

Dorset looks like a really beautiful area for photography, it's somewhere I keep threatening to visit but haven't got round to it yet! Compositionally this is really nice, it's got nice leading lines and it feels balanced. It's well exposed and has plenty of interest. Keep an eye on your horizon when shooting water, it needs to be perfectly level! A really nice shot :)

Welcome to Photocrowd’s ‘Landscapes’ contest for New Joiners! These contests are a chance for new members to introduce their photography to the community, and get a taste of how Photocrowd contests work. They can be entered by anyone within their first 28 days of joining Photocrowd. After 100 images have been submitted the contest closes and the Crowd will start rating the images. The Expert Judge will also be judging the images and writing reviews at the same time. All the winners, both Crowd and Expert, will be announced after 3 days of judging. Make sure you also check out our two other New Joiners contests - ‘People’ and ‘Animals’.

This looks like an awesome place to visit. I like your composition, the boat and small island are framed nicely between the cliffs. The exposure is nice and even, and there's plenty to look at. I'd maybe have desaturated the blue a little as they are a bit strong but that's just a minor thing. Overall it's a nice image and thanks for entering it!
