Welcome to Photocrowd’s ‘Landscapes’ contest for New Joiners! These contests are a chance for new members to introduce their photography to the community, and get a taste of how Photocrowd contests work. They can be entered by anyone within their first 28 days of joining Photocrowd. After 100 images have been submitted the contest closes and the Crowd will start rating the images. The Expert Judge will also be judging the images and writing reviews at the same time. All the winners, both Crowd and Expert, will be announced after 3 days of judging. Make sure you also check out our two other New Joiners contests - ‘People’ and ‘Animals’.
One of my favourite places to visit in the world, the Isle of Skye is just magical and Sligachan is a wonderful place to explore with endless photographic opportunities! I like the framing here, capturing that big sky with the Red & Black Cuillin below and also the powerful water movement. Great job.

What a super pano, it's nice and simplistic but still feels like it's got plenty to keep my interest. Usually, I'd sway away from a centrally placed sun but I think it works really well here. I like the pier leading in from the right and the clouds fill the space to the right to balance the image out :)
I like the way this is composed, the broken fence looks great and it seems reasonably sharp throughout despite being shot at f4. If you'd wanted to get the mountains as sharp as the foreground you could have used a narrower aperture of maybe f11. The blues are very heavy, I'd look at reducing the saturation in the blue as it looks a bit unnatural. Nice photo overall :)
I live 25 mins away from here and am ashamed to say I've never been down despite seeing loads of good photos from there! I like the way you've framed this, almost surrounding the rocks with the tide and the water movement looks great. The white balance is maybe a tiny bit on the cool side but that's just a minor point in an otherwise lovely image.
Lovely pre-dawn colours, I love shooting reflections early doors as the water's almost always at its stillest. Was it possible to get any closer to the waters edge? The tree in the top left is a little distracting and the shadows in the foreground are a bit dark so if there was a way to get past these I think it'd make a huge difference.
This is a lovely bright, happy image. It's got a real feel-good factor about it. The sunlight throughout makes a huge difference, and the nice calm water looks really beautiful. The composition is busy but still works, it's a small shame you couldn't get the top of the clump of trees on the left in the reflection but that's just a minor point.
