I love Padley Gorge, especially in the autumn months because there is always the potential for scenes like this, off the main track, appearing magically in front of you. What I like about this image is the square crop which keeps the composition tight. The long exposure adds a sense of narrative to the image, and the warm, late autumn colours are delightful. An image of which to be proud.
This is classic waterscape capturing just how delightful the light can be after a week of grey and rain. I can imagine your elation when the weather finally broke to reveal this scene, the metaphorical and literal light after the rain. The colours here are lovely, as is the reflection, without the silhouette of the wooden posts beyond. I'd have been inclined towards a tighter crop, honing in on the middle part of the image and excluding the distracting foreground elements, but that aside, there is plenty to like here.
This is a delightful, hi-key image where all the elements work together to make a pleasing composition. Snow has a way of making even the most mundane scenes something entirely different and this is a great example of this. Without the snow, there might have been too much going on, but it acts as a means of separating out the foreground from the background, placing the trees front and centre. The sheep just tops everything off, adding some contrast and foreground interest. Nicely seen and captured.
I really enjoyed the atmospheric feel to this particular image. The background is layered nicely, with the atmospheric conditions helping to separate out the boat from the landscape beyond. The boat itself adds some scale and interest to the foreground. The processing gives the image a rather timeless feel. Nicely done.

This image has a lovely cinematic feel to it. The notion of driving towards the setting sun is conveyed by the positioning of the highway on the left and the signage on the right. The low sun illuminating the whole scene gives the image a romantic feel, aided by the fact the traffic lights are on green, contrasting nicely with the colour of the sign. Some images are about emotion and this one has plenty of it.
Buttermere is a place that just cries out to be photographed. It has a grandeur that is hard to ignore, especially on a summer morning when there is no one else around. It's hard not to fall in love with the landscape. You've captured some lovely atmosphere in this image, with the light bouncing off the still waters beyond. The composition here is a little off, however. I like the two trees on the left, but would like to have seen the tops of them including in the image and a tighter crop overall. The monochrome processing works well and simplifies the image down to it's basic element. Overall, there is plenty to enjoy here.
Meet the expert judge
This is a classic reflection image that demonstrates an understanding of composition. The warm autumn colours of the woodland really add something here. The woodland on the right is balanced out by the two trees on the left. The fact that this was captured on an iPhone demonstrates once again that the best camera is the one you have on you, as long as you know how to use it well.

This is a classic panoramic scene that demonstrates an understanding of composition and the power of the panoramic crop. I like the low compositional angle which is encompassing the rocks in the foreground, leading the eye into the trees and reflection beyond. The lack of light helps to bring out those autumnal colours and provides a moody feel to the composition. Demonstrating that there are plenty of landscape opportunities available, even on a grey day.
This something about this image that just feels like it should be an album cover for some experimental pop band back in the 90s. The contrast between that glorious blue sky and the arid desert is striking and makes the image. It's a shame the horizon is a little wonky. Just a small adjustment in post to straighten it out would improve the overall image vastly, but that aside, there's power in it's simplicity.
I like what you've done with this composition. The red colour of the rock formation is the dominant colour throughout the scene but it's softened by the greens and yellows of the foliage on the right and some of the scrub in the background. Keeping the crop quite tight also works well. Nicely seen and captured.
You've captured a rather dramatic sky in this image. Sunsets such as this become a rather universal experience, there's something in them that transcends language and cultural barriers. The contrast between the fresh greens on the crops in the field and the fiery orange sky works well. There is a distracting blade of grass right in the foreground so I would be inclined to crop that out for a nicer overall image.
This is such an unusual and intriguing image that I thought it was shot on an infrared camera upon first glance. You've managed to capture some frankly magical conditions here. The snowy valley contrasts with the red colour of the rock formations and creates something that feels otherworldly. I could image this scene in a sci-fi movie as the establishing shot. My only suggestion would be to crop a little tighter on the left side so the three 'monuments' are balanced. Otherwise, magical stuff, thank you for sharing.

This is a well composed drone shot. I love that you can get a 'birds eye view' from drones and it can reveal shapes in the landscape otherwise hidden. The train line cutting through the heart of the scene is the main compositional point in this scene, intersecting with the river bed, creating a sort of 'X' in the landscape. The variation of greens and yellows are satisfying and contrast well with the more stark greys of the industrial infrastructure.
I'm a big fan of foggy, misty scenes, especially when it involved water and trees. This particular image has this in abundance with the mist swirling around, illuminated by the early morning sunshine. There's enough of the trees showing to create a sense of depth and the paddle boarder, beholding the scene in front of them, adds a wonderful sense of scale to the composition. This is a pleasing image, well done!
