I had to include this in the commended section because it demonstrates the power of creative thinking. Shooting the sky through the foliage creates immediate and effective contrast in tone and colour. The foliage almost creates a heart shape and the light that's breaking through the sky is just lovely. Nicely seen. Keeping thinking outside the box!
I always like when I see a perspective of NYC that I haven't seen much before, it's refreshing and shows that you're not afraid to move away from more obvious 'honeypot' locations. I like the muted tones in this image and didn't even recognise it as NYC at first. The clouds are lovely, with some of them appearing like smoke and the buildings giving the impression of chimneys. It's an image that invites you to look closer.
I love the feel of this image. The white and red of the fuel station against the hazy grey/blue sky all with strong directional lighting. There's a hint of yellow in the foreground which sets off the red and the whole composition has a cinematic feel to it. The only issue is the truck on the left that distracts from the impact. Removing that with a crop would make the rest of the image much more pleasing.
Some images just ooze atmosphere, they have something peaceful about this. Scenes with still water tend to really emit this sense of peacefulness. The scene you've captured here really speaks to that sense of calm. The single boat bobbing in the water, and the pink tones in the sky, with the moon hanging, reflecting in the water. There is a sheen on the water that is delightful. It's a shame the reflection of the sail has been cut off, as that would have been nice in terms of composition. I'd also suggest that there is too much negative space on the right and consider a tighter crop, possibly as a 1:1 for maximum impact.
Some images are less about the content of the frame and more about the mood it conveys and this is one of those images. It could be anywhere in the world with pine forests, and yet it still has a sense of place. The fog is just dense enough to provide atmosphere but not all consuming so you miss out on the trees. The colour breaking through the clouds really lifts the whole composition. I would say that for me the image is a little bit too processed and lacks clarity, but I'm more than happy to admit that's personal preference.
I was drawn to the muted tones of this image. Other than the brief glimpse of blue sky in the top right, it's almost monotone in it's colour scheme, evoking the notion of a cold wet day. The fishermen on the beach add a sense of scale, and the birds on the wing provide some interest. I like how the clouds are mirroring the shape of the waves below and there's merely a sense of the mountains beyond. Lovely, intriguing image.
I really like the way you've framed the lovely autumnal tree on the left, with some strong side light illuminating the leaves, as well as the fence which acts as a lead into the scene. Although I understand the need to have a watermark, the rather large 'LB' is really distracting here, and I would recommend a smaller, less intrusive signature because your images deserve our full attention.
In photography, especially landscape photography, we're looking for that moment when everything comes together. The conditions, the composition, the content. This image has all of that in abundance. The s-curve of the sea meeting the shore is a satisfying lead into the mountains beyond. The light, just breaking through the cloud, is covering the scene in a golden hue and the panoramic crop helps tie everything together. A majestic image that you should be proud to have taken.
This is a classic autumnal woodland scene that uses composition to good effect. The star of the show is the moss covered trunk that brings some gorgeous vibrant colour to proceedings. This is complimented by the autumn colour behind and the many fallen leaves on the ground and near the stream. The flat light helps to even out the composition and the water gives some much needed contrast. Nicely seen and captured.
I really like the variation in landscape you've captured in this image, from the autumnal trees on the left to the rugged fell side on the right and the still, reflective water below mirroring the fluffy clouds above. There's lots of lovely layers so asking to be explored. I would say that for my taste the colours are a little oversaturated and I would like to see how it looks with the blues toned down. Still, well seen and captured all the same.
Some images are all about narrative, you immediately get a sense of the story when you look at them, and this is one of those images. The light that is catching the sea defences, with the crests of the waves spitting sea spray into the blue sky above. The fast shutter speed means that all the action has been captured in that single frame, something special indeed. The best bit for me though, is the flock of birds, providing interest and balance. Lovely scene, well captured.
I like that you've had the thought here to use the rising sun as a way to lead the eye through the structure of the pier. The sunstar that it creates is really pleasing and contrasts well with the dark wood, catching the tide as it passes under the pier. You've done well to make sure that the structure doesn't intersect the 'legs' of the pier. All in all this shows you have a good eye for a composition.

I love this area of Bristol, and in fact I think that Bristol is a marvellously photogenic city that is underrated so it's really lovely to see an image of the iconic suspension bridge at night. The lights on the bridge are balanced out by the street lights on the right and you've controlled the colours, making sure the tone is true to life and not overwhelmed by one colour. My only suggestion would be a tighter crop to get rid of the foliage that sneaks into the bottom of the frame if that's possible without losing any of the bridge. Lovely work.
