This is a well executed seascape that demonstrates a thorough knowledge of how to compose and place elements in the frame. The low angle really makes the foreground pop, with that pool of water acting as a leading line into the small rock on the left and the coastline beyond. The light coming from the low sun adds some drama and power to the scene. My only suggestion would have been to have composed for more foreground and less sky as the lack of cloud cover means the proliferation of negative space that doesn't add much to the rest of the image. Still, this is a fine image of a lesser known location, bravo.

Absolutely love the atmosphere you've captured in this image. The dirt track in the centre of the composition leads the eye right into the mountains beyond, shrouded in the low cloud and mystery. The cloud seems to mirror the sweep of the mountainside, hiding the peaks but tentatively revealing the grandeur as it lifts. Nicely seen and captured.

This is a well composed seascape that demonstrates a good understanding of composition and how to arrange the elements in the frame. The foreground leads the eye in nicely, with the colourful rocks mirroring the warm tones in the sky and the calm waters reflecting the clouds. The posts on the right hand side provide some much needed interest, and overall this is a pleasing image.

I love the feel to this image. The light and the processing give it a clean aesthetic, helped by the framing, the high clouds in the blue sky and the (almost) deserted beach. There's a narrative that you've captured through the different coloured beach houses sprawling along the front, added to by the addition of the two empty deckchairs and parasol on the sand. It feels almost melancholic in tone, like a forgotten postcard depicting a holiday from long ago. I'm certainly glad you took a photo of what you could see, thank you for sharing.

I can rarely resist the lure of light streaming through the trees on a misty morning. There is something endlessly appealing about how the light and the mist interact. It is what plenty of us landscape photographers chase when we're out for sunrise and you've done a fine job of capturing those conditions in this shot. The light and mist aside, what really helps this image standout is the silhouettes of the horses that are just visible through the atmosphere, backlit by the sun. Beautiful conditions, well captured.

This is a classic scene but one I rarely tire of seeing. There is something about the Trotternish Peninsular that has a prehistoric feel, something rather different to the mainland of Scotland. Sometimes a week of heavy rain can produce magical light, and you were definitely rewarded for your patience as the light catching the hills is delightful and rich, pulling out those colours and highlighting the lochs below. Nicely seen and captured.

This is a dreamy image that has many layers to it. The lake is enclosed by these high hills all around, the low cloud catching on the tops and adding to the atmosphere. This is enhanced by the mist drifting across the surface of the water and the hint of turquoise below. The colours of the water contrast with the vibrant yellows and greens of the foreground in the bottom left. catching the light. It's a feast for the eyes, well done.

This is a rather lovely panorama that's full of personality. I like that you've used the sweep of the road to help lead the eye from one part of the pano to the other. The cross processing adds another little something extra to the scene, as does the strong light entering the frame on the left, covering the trees and catching falling/drifting snow. Nicely done.

The composition of this image is absolutely spot on. To the untrained eye it might be dismissed as 'too urban' or 'too flat' but that would mean missing out on all it has to offer. It's a wonderful insight into how humans and nature coexist with the city rising from the shoreline, framed by the incoming waves below. A fragile alliance. I like that you've left in a little of the warm coloured sand to add some vibrance, and captured the hint fo a reflection in the tide. An image that tells a story and deserved of a top 10 spot, well done.

This is a gorgeous, classic autumn scene that captures the magic of that season. There is little better than a misty autumn morning when the colour is at it's peak, covering the scenery with warm golden tones. The use of a low angle here helps to pull the eye into the image, moving ever towards the light at the end of the natural tunnel created by the trees and foliage. Beautiful work.

This is a fine shot of one of the many marvellous scenes to be found on the Lofoten islands, especially in winter. I like that you've gone for a portrait orientation which layers up the different parts of land and water, unified by the blanketed snow. The colour in the water is a delicious blue and the overcast sky evens out the tones. A tighter crop would serve you well, getting rid of the distracting metal bar in the bottom left.

I can almost feel the cold in this image and it's all the better for it. The colours of the sunrise and moonset are vibrant in the sky but still carry with them that notion of winter, contrasting with the cool tones of the snowy mountain peaks and hut. Using the hut as a compositional tool works well, pulling the eye into the scene. It must have been a magical moment to witness and you've captured the emotion well.

There's something about this tree that I really enjoy. There's always something appealing about a lone tree in the landscape and this one has a really lovely shape. It's helped by the misty background that is providing some separation between it and the the mountains beyond, and the colours of the foliage help to lift the whole composition. The only part of the image that brings conflict is that some of the tree's branches are penetrating the horizon above the mountaintop which makes the composition feel a little uncomfortable. That aside, your attention to detail in being able to pick out this tree from the landscape deserves a 'highly commended' in my book.
