There's really only a few elements in this image, but the way you've used them in the composition is what really makes the image work. The magic comes from the relationship between the moody, overcast sky, the lush green field and the dilapidated barn. You've timed it just right so the light is catching the barn and picking it out against the greens of the crops. Giving the sky prominence provides scale to the barn and all in this is a lush summery scene that is well seen and captured.

This is one of those image that has something to say. The landscape is obscured by the fire and smoke, but there are still some discernible natural elements visible, such as the tree that dominates the right of the frame. Behind is the outline of the bridge reminding us of the human impact on the landscape. It's an image that evokes thoughts of climate change and leaves a rather chilling impression.

There's plenty to like about this frosty scene, from the fallen log in the foreground that points the eye towards the frozen waterfall beyond, as well as the hint of colour in the sky above to offset monochrome colours of the scene below. You understand how to create a compelling composition and convey the impressive bite of winter. It's the kind of image where you can feel the cold and it makes me want to look closer at the icicles clinging to the rock face.

I love the way you've composed this image and the narrative you've provided that gives an insight to the scene. There is a distinct split between the dense woodland and foliage that dominates the left and the harsh concrete that encroaches on the right. It demonstrates that uneasy relationship between the natural world and our human interactions with it. The inclusion of the sick jackal adds something extra here, underlining the narrative of the image that you've created with the composition and demonstrating the consequences. A hugely compelling image that I'll be continuing the think about for a while.

I really enjoyed this image and the story it tells about the time of year and the relationship between the manmade and natural elements in the composition. The panoramic crop works well as it excludes the sky which may have distracted from the other elements in the image and creates a balance between the truck on the left and the autumnal trees on the right. The light is lovely and helps to highlight all the elements, and I can almost feel the warmth of that autumnal sunshine. Sometimes it's the everyday that can make for compelling imagery when the light catches right.

There's a real sense of scale to this image, with the landscape unfolding into the distance, catching the morning light. The whole image is given scale by the three hot air balloons soaring into the clear sky. The gradient in the sky is lovely, from those blues to the warmer tones. There are a couple of dust spots visible that could easily be removed in post to ensure there's no distractions in the scene. It must have been quite something to witness.

A classic scene and composition that never fails to please the eyes. Brings back memories of standing in this spot myself marvelling at the grandeur of such a primordial landscape. The colours you've captured during this sunrise compliment that grandeur and the light catching on the peninsular is rather lovely. Nicely seen, captured and processed.

This image is all about the feeling it conveys. I find that the atmosphere at sunrise is distinct and different from any other time of the day, punctuated by the first strands of light penetrating the horizon. Although it isn't sharp, I rather enjoy the lead in provided by the branches in the top left, moving the eye to the reeds and frost as well as the hint of mist on the water catching the light. Excluding the sky works here as it would just end up distracting from the scene. Nicely seen and captured.

I love it when you just happen across scenes like this on your daily commute and with the proliferation of mobile phones we all have the ability to capture and share such moments. The mist drifting across the field is rather lovely, lit up by the low morning sun. The curve of the pavement leads the eye in and the crow in the sky adds a little bit of interest in an otherwise clear sky. Thanks for sharing.

A nice example of how drone photography can reveal a different perspective on the landscape. The layers in the image work well, from the blues of the water, to the golden colour of the sand and suburbia beyond. What stood out to me is the natural s-curve created by the coastline that pulls the eye in. Nicely seen and processed.

Love the atmosphere in this and how all the elements of the image come together to create something more compelling than the sum of their parts. There's a painterly quality to the sky with the warm oranges merging into the cool greys and blues as well as the neutral sea below. The buildings on the seafront add both scale and context, catching the last of the light. Overall a really pleasing, stylised image that shows creativity and skill.

A powerful image that demonstrates the grandeur of Antartica by including the boat of onlookers to create a sense of scale. The moody backdrop helps to elevate the cool blue tones and the reflection in the water works well, as does the positioning of the iceberg in the frame. Thanks for sharing.

It's always nice to see someone interpreting the landscape differently when I browse through the entries and this definitely fits that description. Many would approach this scene and capture it in classic fashion, and although there is nothing wrong with that, it's great to see you taking a different approach and exploring the more abstract side of this composition. It can be difficult to capture a reflection that still has enough interest and information but I think this works really well. Nice work thinking outside the traditional landscape box.

This image is all about the light which is flooding through the trees in the background and creating a warm glow across the whole scene. I notice that you've shot the image at f/3.5 which means that the foreground is in focus and the background is blurred, however with so much light coming in, it's meant that some of the highlights are blown. I'd have considered a lower aperture (say, f/8) to control the exposure and ensure that more of the image is sharp. I'd also have left a little more room between the edge of the bench and the edge of the frame. That aside, the gorgeous atmosphere works really well, thanks for sharing.
