I rather enjoyed all the layers in the image, aided by the strong front lighting catching on those bare trees, bringing out their silvery colour and contrasting them with the greens behind. Because the light is falling on the trees, and not on the backdrop it brings a dramatic feel to the scene, with those dark clouds gathering, overshadowing the mountains and adding to a feeling of forboding.

Fabulous image that has so many elements working together to convey the scene. The composition that focusses on the fishing boats, using the leading line of the structures in the water to bring the eye to the people in the boat behind. The light is rather glorious, and you've done well to manage the highlights. The warm tones through unifies the composition and the birds taking flight adds a little touch of magic and movement. Nicely seen and expertly executed.

This image has a rather moody feel to it, with the sun breaking through the low cloud/fog, with barely enough power to light up the scene below. You've done well to use the leading lines of the road to guide the eye into the back of the image, with the hint of another vehicle traveling towards you. The wide angle aspect ratio works well, giving the image a cinematic feel.

I have to say, I really enjoyed this image. I think it's one that could be easily overlooked because it doesn't have a huge amount of drama, but the play between the highlights and the shadows as well as dappled light breaking through that low cloud, works well.

There's a sharpness to the ragged ridges of the mountain range that contrasts with the white snow covering the tops. A majestic monochrome image full of atmosphere.

This is a competent long exposure that makes the most of the overcast conditions to ensure the image has even tones throughout. I always find that shooting long exposures in overcast conditions just leads to better results because you're not having to deal with a lot of variation in the highlights.

Here, the cool tones of the water contrast well with the warmer tones of the trees behind. The exposure is just long enough to add a little bit of narrative and movement, without making the water too milky and ethereal. Although there isn't an evident horizon, the composition still feels a little wonky and it might be worth adjusting in post for a more effective final product.

There is a graphical quality to this composition that is really rather pleasing. The low angle you've chosen brings the eye down to the level of the sand, and those mini dunes mirror the shapes and texture of the rock formations beyond. This in turn has a relationship with the cloud formations above. Each section has it's own colour that they compliment each of the other blocks. Nicely seen and captured!

Although this isn't maybe the most picturesque composition, I really like what you've done here with the elements in the frame. Choosing to compose low to the ground enhances that frosty ground which is catching the light of the morning sun. There is complimentary colours in the broad walk and the clouds in the sky, and the wooden structure compliments the colour of the wetlands. I can feel the chill in the air.

Evocative image that makes the most of the elements available. The choice of the wide angle lens ensures that we not only have focus on the boats in the foreground, but the context of the volcano behind. There's some steam/mist/atmosphere that seems to be coming off the volcano or is just present in the sky above the boats that adds something extra to the scene. The tonality throughout is satisfying, demonstrating an understating of post-processing.

You're not wrong about this image having an apocalyptic vibe. That overwhelming warm light covers every single part of the image from the sky to the spray coming from the sea. I enjoy the layers in this composition, from the stairs on the right to the people sitting and the couple walking.

The quality of the image degrades as the layers get further away which is likely because it was shot at f/9 so the furthest points aren't in focus. I'd also consider cropping out some of the sky so our attention stays on the layers in the foreground, as the sky doesn't hold a huge amount of interest.

There are a few elements at play in this image that combine to ensure this is an effective composition. You've made sure you're dead centre so the eye is led right down that line of trees. You've done well to control the strong lighting, and the way it's catching on the tree line is very appealing. I like the processing that emphasises the warm tones in the grass and the leaves. I like the choice of aspect ratio although I wonder if there is a 1:1 composition in the middle that would also work well.

I absolutely love this long exposure. There's something about the colours of the foliage and colours of the water. There's a cool tone throughout but a sense of light in the scene. You've done well to control those highlights behind the tree, and in doing so you provide balance to the scene. The way you have positioned the elements in the frame works well, and the long exposure is just long enough to add a sense of narrative and movement to the falls. Wonderfully executed. Thanks for sharing.

The power of the lone tree is always prevalent in landscape photography and this is a fine example. Madeira has a reputation for these foggy/misty conditions as demonstrated in your image. I like the tight framing and the understated editing, bring out the nuances of that soft light breaking through the fog. I can imagine it was a magical experience to witness and photograph. Thank you for sharing.

Although there is really only two elements to this image, it still works quite well. I could be mistaken (and I hold my hands up if I'm wrong) but I'm going to assume that it's a composite because of the light on the water indicates that was taken at a different time of the day to sunset. This sort of gives the image a bit of a surreal feeling that actually works. I like the movement in the waves and the tight framing.

This is a rather fascinating rock formation. I enjoy the natural arch that's been created in the cliff side, and it's relationship to the formation that is standing on it's own. I like how you've composed to compliment both of these elements. The light colour of the rock compliments the gorgeous turquoise blues of the water. I'd consider cropping out/removing the foliage that snuck in at the bottom of the frame and potentially check to see if your horizon is straight.
