I like your choice of composition in this image, standing out in the surf as the tide is out and looking back towards those distinctive cliffs. The light catching off the Seven Sisters is lovely, sandwiched between the blue sky above and the reflection of the sky in the wet sand below. The patterns in the sand act as a leading line back to the shore and the processing works well.

Although it has become quite common to see top-down drone shots such as this one, I still enjoy seeing the world from such a perceptive, especially when there are so many lovely layers visible like in this image. I love that the sea has a different disposition on either side of the road, with the left a bold block of turquoise blue and the right a mixture of cool and warm tones. The strong sunlight works well to highlight the colours. The only adjustment I would make is to ensure the road is completely straight to give the image an even more graphical feel.

Love this moody, autumnal image. The pathway/road is a useful tool to lead the eye into the scene, helped by some of the light catching the tarmac and distinguishing it from the woodland. The colours are a lovely mix of browns and oranges and the dark processing focusses the attention on the foliage. The inbuilt s-curve of the pathway is also satisfying.

You've captured some lovely light in this image, catching the hillside on the other side of the loch. The glow in the evening sky is rather nice and the boats/house provide a sense of scale. You've included a lot of loch in the foreground that doesn't add a huge amount to the composition and I'd be inclined to use a 16:9 crop to get rid of some of the negative space so attention remains focussed on the loch and the light.

This is a fascinating image and I wish you had included some more information. There is an emotion evoked by this image and although it's not a traditional landscape I couldn't help but include it in the top ten because the landscape is integral to the overall scene. The hazy, warm golden light in the majestic backdrop to the fantastic image of the elephant striding across the foreground. There's something magic you've captured here and it only increases the more I look at the image.

An image that contains a lot of depth and drama. I like how you've composed with the woodland in the foreground framing the lake and the mountains beyond. The scree slopes lead the eye up to the peaks hidden behind the low cloud, adding some much needed atmosphere. The layers of greenery, grey and eventually the flash of white from the snow at the top, contrasts with blue sky above the cloud. Nicely done.

This is such an unusual and interesting image that it made me stop and really take in what I was looking at. On first glance it looked like the figure/monument at the top was standing on a wave that was rising up out of the ocean. Then my brain registered that would be impossible so I had to reevaluate. I love that it's an ice and snow formation that gives the impression of waves. Absolutely fascinating, helped by the ethereal processing, thank you for sharing.

Oh the joy of a misty morning, where the layers rise up from yonder hillside and become all but irresistible to a keen eyed photographer. I like your choice of letterbox composition to ensure the eye is focussed on the misty layers without getting too distracted by the sky. It's a shame the file is quite small, as it's hard to make out some of the finer detail, but the sentiment remains.

Classic image that is everything I love about the Norfolk Broads, especially on a misty morning. The stillness of the water aids the composition by providing a lovely reflection of the windmill on the edge of the water. The light adds a little contrast to the scene and the composition works well with the windmill being balanced out by the trees on the left. Nicely seen and captured.

There's a rather nicely defined relationship between the two islands in this frame and it demonstrates an understanding of how to create a compelling composition. It's hard to gauge a sense of scale, and the buildings surrounding St Michaels Mount seem small in comparison to the rocky island on the left. The soft pastel tones are really lovely, especially as they're reflecting nicely in the sea and it almost makes the subject matter float between the sky and the water. The processing is considered and subtle, although the image feels a little bit wonky (which may be caused by a false horizon). A delightful image.

There's plenty to enjoy about this image and it has many parts that all equally add up to a rather enjoyable experience. I like how you've framed the water below with the foliage, controlling that sunstar. The clouds formations are interesting and help balance out the composition. The colour palette also works well.

Although there are plenty of dune images that are submitted to this contest on the regular, I never tire of getting lost in the detail of the undulating dunes and the play of light and shadow on the sand. This is another fine example where it's difficult to ascertain whether it's a small section or a large amount of vast empty desert. I like the play between the cool blue tones and the warm sections of sand. You've composed well and the processed tastefully. Thank you for sharing!

An image that is quintessentially New Zealand in it's colour palette and it's scenery. Those snow-capped mountains rising through the clear blue sky and the stillness of Lake Pukaki. There's something about the light in NZ that I've not witnessed in any other part of this planet. It makes me nostalgic for travelling through this great country. I like the composition and the way the light is falling across the foreground, although i'd be inclined to crop the sky down as it's not adding a huge amount to the image. Also, I wish the file was at a higher resolution so I could take in more of the detail.

This is a classic pier capture of a place I know well. I always liked how imposing Cromer pier is and how it's hard not to photograph it as it juts out into the wash. You managed to capture it on a lovely morning (those East Anglian sunrises are the best) with a plethora of colours catching on the clouds above. The hint of a reflection in the wet sand works well, as does the curve of the tide against the untouched sand, acting as a leading lead to the pier. Nicely seen and captured.
