I absolutely agree that landscapes are not just about spectacular views, and fully endorse urban landscapes as part of the umbrella term. This is lovely example, which uses manmade lines (in the form of the bridge) to pull the eye into the heart of the image, with the cranes reaching high into the cloudy sky, overseeing the scene below. The processing brings out the blue tones from both the bridge railings and the cranes and overall this is a rather pleasing scene, thank you for sharing.
A beautiful, atmospheric misty image that simply shows off the magic of autumn. I like that the parts of the image that are in the foreground, namely the house and the most autumnal trees, are separated from the background, yet we get some perception of the trees and woodland beyond. The lack of light ensures the tones are even throughout, and the composition works really well. A lovely rendition of a misty morn.
This shows how I often find the Isle of Skye; grey, gloomy and yet still beautiful and full of atmosphere. There is a certain symmetry to the landscape here, with the seaweed ridden rocky shoreline mirrored in the sweep of the cloud above. Both elements lead the eye to the mountainscape in the middle, with just the hint of reflection. The fact that it was taken on an iPhone just demonstrates that the best camera is the one you have on you.
What I love about this image is the colours. There's something special about those deep inky blues consuming most of the sky (and the reflection), only giving way to the warm embers of a dying day, the sun below the horizon but still perceptible. The landscape is illuminated by the last of the light, with the boat intersecting the scene to add interest.
This is such a stark and bold landscape that it made me really want to search through the details and take in the scene. I like the low angle that you've cultivated, concentrating on those red stones which lead the eye into the mountainscape beyond. There is a graphic quality to the sharp angles of the mountain slopes against that bright blue sky. The colours throughout are delicious, from those reds and greys to the flash of turquoise running through the heart of the composition. My only niggle would be that the little cloud on the left pulls attention out of the frame and the impact of the image might well be improved if it was removed. That aside, this is a marvellous image of many layers.
Tuscany is a haven for landscape photographers and for good reason. Your image is a demonstration of why this is so. The undulating hills catching the light, full of colour and vibrance, punctuated by the trees which add scale and interest. The greens compliment the blue sky above and the side light works well to highlight the shape of the landscape.
A beautiful, simple image that does what it sets out to do with deftness and competence. Fog has a wonderful way of separating out one part of an image from another and you exploit that to great effect in this photo. Those tree tops catching the light and poking up through the fog are the main event, surrounded by the fog on all sides. What works really well is the long exposure of the fog which adds narrative and creates something a little out of the ordinary. Lovely work.
I rather enjoyed that you've tried to do something interesting here, excluding the sky and pushing in on the composition to concentrate on the autumnal foliage. The dark water of the river below helps to elevate the autumnal colours and there's a feeling of a chilly day by the water. The colours in the leaves are complimented by the warm brown lichen on the rocks. Nicely done.
Oh to have the opportunity to photograph Antarctica. What an experience it must have been for you. This image is a lovely testament to your trip and speaks to the quintessential nature of the place. I love the composition, with a thin section of sea visible to demonstrate some sense of scale, and then it's just endless glacier as far as the eye can see, fading from those glorious cool blues to almost imperceptible whites. Nicely done.
A competent and evidently skilled composition that really shows off the juxtaposition between the buildings on the peninsular and the natural landscape beyond. You've done well to capture that impressive sunstar as the light fades and the sun dips below the hills in the distance. The tones are even, with plenty of colour evident in the architecture, reflected in the colours appearing in the sky above. Nicely seen and captured.
Buttermere has such a recognisable vista that is hard to resist, whatever the weather. Although the water is not completely flat and reflective, I rather like the sweep of the ripples cutting through the heart of the image in front of those sentinel trees and the famous bothy. The clouds are lovely helping to frame Fleetwood Pike and Hay Stacks. A composition worthy of the view.
I love a bold and contrasty black and white image like the one you've captured and processed. Although you've detailed the location, it's one of those images that could have been captured anywhere, because it's how the light and dark that work together to really elevate the scene. The composition also helps, with the light flooding from the right hand side. You've cleverly given room for the composition to move from left to right, with the bold light revealing the manmade walkway against the rugged landscape. Nicely seen, captured and processed.
Winter in the Pacific North West is an evocative and plain speaking title for an atmospheric image. A still morning, flat grey sky, the scene reflecting into the water from the buildings to the woodland. The low cloud catching the tops of the trees and evoking the feel of a cold wintery morning. Nicely seen, captured and processed.
There is no end to my enjoyment of the Lofoten Islands, although I've only ever been during the winter months. Your image demonstrates there is much to love about this landscape during any season, and in fact, spring/summer reveals turquoise colours in the water, complimenting the lush greenery in the landscape. Your vantage point works well, with the sweep of Uttakleiv leading the eye from the beach and the sea to the mountains beyond. Gorgeous image full of light and atmosphere, thank you for sharing!

Some of my favourite conditions are when the light begins to break through on a misty morning, bringing with it plenty of atmosphere. What I like about this image is that there is a notion of that atmosphere, but the image is also a tale of two halves. On the one side is the greens, both on the trees and in the grasses and this is complimented by the warm tones of reds and oranges on the right, the brown bracken below. The mist separates out the trees in the foreground and focusses our attention. Nicely done.
