An intriguing monochrome image that has impact and interest. Those icicles on the far left of the frame are the main event, demonstrate the bite that winter has, and leading the eye into the rest of the mountain range beyond, covered in snow. The cloud cover and dappled light compliment the mountains and the monochrome processing pulls the image back to the basic highlights and shadows.

This is a really nice example of a sunrise image and demonstrates why this particular part of the day can be so delightful. The mist that is drifting close to the ground adds atmosphere, as does the rising sun and overall warm tones. However, what really works for me here is the positioning of the sun in relationship to the trees. You've controlled the exposure of that bright sun well and placing it between the two trees in the composition really makes the image pop. This and the complimentary processing makes this a photo of which to be proud.

A powerful and bold long exposure that uses the elements in the frame to good effect. The drfitwood in the bottom left almost reaches out of the frame towards the viewer, and brings us into the rest of the scene. The long exposure smoothes out the sea and adds movement to the sky, with the hint of light on the horizon adding some contrast. You've gone bold on your colours, pulling out the oranges and blues, allowing them to contrast with each other. Thanks for sharing.

Who can resist a lone tree? Certainly not me. It is a long enduring trope in landscape photography and for good reason. It symbolises the notion of loneliness and isolation, and in a scene like this with snow on the ground and acres of cloud above, it helps to focus attention. Often I'm put off by too much negative space in an image, but this works well, emphasising even further the isolation of the tree and the uniformity of it's surroundings.

A classic shot of a lighthouse that uses the elements available in the image to good effect. The foreground works well, with the rocks jutting out and leading the eye to the lighthouse on the left side of the frame. The low light catching on the white paint of the structure, with the sunset colours balancing out on the right. The long exposure smooths out the water and adds narrative. Nicely seen and captured.

There's little better than a bright, cold winter morning and this image really conveys that crispness. Some snow on the ground and a hint that the water is somewhat frozen. The cold is tempered by that weak winter sun, adding a little contrast to proceedings. The sky above has some interesting clouds which helps to balance out the rest of the scene.

Sometimes a human element in a landscape can elevate what might be a fairly pedestrian image to something a little more special, and for me this is the case with this photo. There's a lot of negative space created by the clear sky above the rock that's jutting out and above the rest of the scene, but it works because it helps to demonstrate how tiny and insignificant the human figure is standing atop the mountain peak. Thanks for sharing.

It's one thing to find mist and hoar frost at the beginning of the day, but quite something else to have those conditions at the end. Although you'd think they were quite similar, I find the light at either end of the day rather different, plus the sun is a different place and therefore it makes the image even more appealing (and rare). I like the backlit silhouettes of winter trees and the undulating hills stacking backwards, losing definition in the distance. The light is warm and inviting, despite the obvious cold and I like the aspect ratio. It's a shame some of the highlights are blown in the top right. For a better balance I'd consider cropping them out. Still, a delightful scene.

A bright and colourful seascape that works with all the elements to ensure the composition is powerful and impactful. The foreground works well, with the rocks leading the eye to the pier, which in turn pulls us into the distance and the sunset. The colours of the sunset are rather lovely, with yellows and oranges merging together, reflecting in the water below. Nicely captured and processed.

One of those Lakeland mornings that are so delicious, with swirling low cloud and mist occasionally allowing in some light, revealing the landscape below. Your take on it here evokes the atmosphere of such a morning. I would say that main part of the image gets a little lost because there is a lot of negative space above the copse of trees. I'd be inclined to try a tighter crop or even a 16:9 to see if that would balance the image better.

A dramatic monochrome image that really benefits from the pairing back to the relationship between the highlights and shadows. That interesting rock formation is aided in the composition by those high cirrus clouds dancing above, splitting the image in two. Nicely captured and processed.

I love the tones in this image. Those prevailing pastel colours of sunset glowing orange and contrasting with the dark blue silhouettes of the hills in the distance. This is in turn helped by the mist drifting between the mountains and the hint of water at the bottom of the frame. I like your composition too. It could quite easily be an album cover for some up and coming indie-folk band.
