I find these trees (and the backdrop) endlessly fascinating. It must have been quite something to have been in this spot, witnessing this wonderful visual feast full of endless compositional possibilities. There is something otherworldly about it, like it's straight out the pages of a fantasy novel. The trees look almost 2D against the dunes in the background and the fact that the trees, dunes and sand are all in the same colour group give a graphical feel to proceedings. The inclusion of some humans in the scene adds a little bit of scale. The image is a little dark and may well benefit from brightening up in post so everything doesn't merge together.

There is a simplicity to this image this is rather enjoyable. The singular boat motoring out into the still waters has a rather calming effect, especially when combined with the glorious light that is catching on the hill in the distance, made more powerful by the dark clouds beyond. There is a symmetry between the boat, the hill and the sky above. A quiet image that works well.

You've captured some interesting shapes and patterns in this scene that makes the image interesting to explore. The curves of the outgoing tide as it moves around the rock contrasts with the diagonal textures of the rock itself. This in turn is reflected in the direction and movement of the high cirrus clouds, interrupted by fluffy cumulous clouds suggesting humidity below. The processing emphasises the contrast in colour between the sand and the sky, helped by some cross-processing. A nicely composed and processed image, thanks for sharing.

I'm a big fan of urban landscapes and this one works well. I like the perspective you've gone for with this frame, standing on one bridge to capture some of the more iconic bridges in the distance, including Tower bridge. The hazy sunshine in catching on some of the older architecture, demonstrating the myriad of juxtapositions that exist in any modern city, especially London. The sky has lots of interest in it, especially where the cloud breaks in to blue at the top of the frame, complimenting some of the bluer hues in the buildings below. A clean and effective cityscape.

Some images are about the composition and the story that can tell and some images are all about the conditions, the light or the absence of light, and this image is one of those. I was immediately struck by the boldness of the colours permeating through the scene, deep red and burnt orange. The low sun is covering much of the image, from the grasses in the foreground to the cliff faces and mountain scenes beyond. The oranges and reds compliment the blues of the sky, giving way to the promise of the incoming dusk. A powerful rendition of how light can change something pedestrian into something far more interesting.

I can only assume this has been shot with a drone (or you have a rather convenient hill overlooking the village which is not beyond the realms of possibility). Either way the angle of the image makes for an interesting composition. That low winter light is delightful, catching on the facade of the church and tops of the frozen trees in the foreground and fields beyond. The high cirrus cloud in the sky are catching some lovely colour and add some interest to the upper half of the scene. There's something quintessentially English about this vignette and all the better for it. There is quite a bit of noticeable noise in the image which could likely be from processing and could be adjusted in post (if you use Lightroom I recommend their new AI denoise option as it's rather powerful and the results have been great). Lovely image, thanks for sharing!

I see many images of the Grand Canyon in this competition and most tend to want to take in the whole vista so it's nice to see an image that is attempting to do something different. You certainly have an understanding of composition as you've fitted the elements into the 1:1 frame really well, from the river on the right side to the diagonal of light running through the centre of the frame. The exclusion of the sky makes sure we concentrate on the textures and light, exploring everything it has to offer. I wonder if you were quite zoomed in because the image lacks a bit of quality in terms of resolution. However, other than that there is plenty to like here!

A lot of us landscape photographers spend a long time studying the weather forecast just hoping for conditions akin to the ones present in your image. There is something enduringly intriguing and enticing about a foggy woodland and your image demonstrates why. The trees seem to disappear into the distance with the trees in the foreground taking centre stage. I like the angle you've adopted, creating a sense of the trees being somewhat bigger and more imposing than they likely were at the time. The foliage sneaking in on the left provides some much needed colour to the scene and helps lead the eye into the frame. A wonderful example of the best camera being the one you have on you. Thank you for sharing.

This is an absolutely fascinating image that demands that the viewer give it more than a cursory glance. It has a graphical quality with the stark monochrome processing and intriguing, uniform composition. The mass of umbrellas at the bottom of the frame remain uninterrupted until the far left of the frame where two figures are revealed, giving context to the scene. Above the umbrellas appears the sea wall, creating a straight line through the heart of the frame, the sea sloshing in front and behind, giving way to an overcast sky. Normally a large amount of negative space can unbalance an image but here it just serves to make the who composition more interesting and powerful. Really impressive, thank you for sharing.

I really like that drones can offer up a different perspective on familiar territory. I imagine this particular viaduct has been photographed many times from ground level, but the drone image reveals a different story. The overgrown rail line speaks to nature reclaiming a space that was once home to the sights and sounds of regular train travel, passing over the landscape and the river. I like that the viaduct ends where the water begins, dropping off like an unfinished sentence. It stands in contrast with the rest of the surroundings, so clearly manmade, and yet beautiful in it's own right. An intriguing scene that does a good job of conveying a narrative.

What works about this image is the balance you've created between the different elements in the frame. There is symmetry between the shape of the rock in the background and the shape of the pool, as well as green coloration of the headland mirrored in the colour of the water. The overcast sky provides even tones throughout but there is enough texture in the cloud to ensure there is some interest. The texture of the clouds contrasts with the rugged texture of the rocks. This is one of those images that really rewards a closer look. Thank you for sharing.

This is a nice representative landscape image that does exactly what it says on the tin; shows off the landscape. There is plenty to enjoy in the frame, especially the various contrasting colours and textures. The granite grey of the scree slopes are mirrored in the colour of the water, and the snowcapped mountaintops merge with the low cloud sweeping through the composition. The flash of blue in the sky is a much needed respite from the greens and greys, adding some pop to proceedings.

There is a freshness emanating from this frame, elevated by the light catching on the rock formations, trees and terrain. There are contrasting colours and textures running through the heart of the composition, from the granite roughness of the rocks to the smooth green grass below. Sadly you don't go into any detail about the location or process which is a a shame as it looks like a marvellous place. Your composition works really well, slightly elevated and ensuring the frame is balanced from left to right. Unfortunately the sky is rather blown out and there appears to be many dust spots that have snuck through, diminishing the image somewhat and something that could be easily addressed in post. That aside, there is plenty to enjoy here and a demonstrable ability to compose and create intriguing imagery.

I like images that invite you into an imaginary journey, like this photo. As the viewer, we're standing on the precipice, looking out into the landscape beyond, anticipating the start of a journey, or enjoying a brief respite in the middle. Either way there is a hopefully feel to the scene with the rain clearing and the promise of better weather, emphasised by the light catching on the mountains in the distance. You capture both the personal experience, but also the grandeur of your surroundings. An image with heart, thank you for sharing.
