What I really enjoyed about this image is the way that each section of the scene has a relationship with another. For instance the little wave in the foreground has a relationship with the clouds above, and both those elements in turn are repeated in the white of the lighthouse sitting atop the cliff. The same accent of white is found in the cliff face. I like how the darker textures of the cliffside cut through the middle of the scene, creating another layer in the landscape, helped by the side lighting illuminating the composition.

This image is all about layers. The bottom is golden in colour, full of texture and the top is clear blue, not even a cloud in the sky. The middle is punctuated by the wind farm, rising from the landscape like giant sentient beings, their white exteriors glinting in the sun. The undulating landscape adds interest to the layers and all in all this is a pleasing scene that has been well composed and processed.

This image has got a little bit of everything. A field of crops, some morning mist drifting across the distant tree line and clouds catching the first moments of light, glowing with vibrant colour. Your composition works well, with the pattern of the corn replicated in the pattern the of cloud above. A classic landscape image that does a great job of conveying the moment, well done.

What a gnarly tree! I can only imagine the storms, and seasons that this tree has lived through and endured. It's fun to imagine what it looked like before the elements whittled it down to what appears in this image. I'm assuming that's a little bit of snow on the tree and the ground? Would that be unusual for this location? It sort of feels out of place, but makes for a really lovely contrast between the red hue of the landscape behind. An intriguing images that makes me wonder about the story behind the tree.

This is a photo that packs a punch. The subject matter is singular, with the distinctive peak of Matterhorn taking centre stage. I loved the background you have to this image, talking about the journey and thought process behind the shot. I like that you've focused in on the mountain and exclude everything else so our attention is fully focused on that sun kissed peak, warm and vibrant, contrasting with the blues of the mountain below and the sky above. Well exposed, with a powerful choice of composition, this image works. Thanks for sharing.

I love the dynamic feeling this image conveys, with the sense of drama being caught in the wave crashing over the rocks. This is enhanced by your low angle, bringing the eye to the same level as the rocks, so we're right in the thick of the action, like we're standing in the water feeling each wave as it ascends and then descends onto the shore. The scene is elevated further by the gorgeous sky above. Not sure if it's sunset or sunrise, but the colour in the clouds compliments the dark textures of the rocks and water below. Nicely seen and captured.

I like the bold colours that move through this image in layers, from the orange at the bottom of the frame to the yellow in the middle and the blue above. The dark tones of the barn in the middle makes it stand out, and I like that the rust on the roof contrasts with the orange rust colours below. What elevates the image further is the four bird flying through the frame, with their white features catching the sunlight.

It's not often that an image taken from an airplane looks decent, usually because the lights of the plane interior end up being visible, but that doesn't seem to be an issue with this image, and the result means we get a rather unique view of Amsterdam from above. There seems to be mist or fog consuming the city in the distance, and we're left with an industrialised foreground. I like the shafts of light making their way from the low cloud and the contrast between the colours of the city and the colours of the sky.

A classic autumn scene that makes the most of the elements in the frame. I like that you've excluded the sky for the most part as it would just have acted as a distraction from the rest of the image. Instead we are focused on those gorgeous autumnal colours and their reflection in the little brook or stream that runs through the heart of the image.

The vibrant colours of the houses on the front really make this image pop. They stand out from the more drab historical buildings behind and the concrete jetty in the foreground. What I like about this image is the wave coming from the left of the frame suggesting that the weather was wild. An interesting urban vignette.

Wow, this must have been quite the sight to see. I love the sheer scale that this image conveys, with all those snowy peaks related to each other. The texture of the mountains peaking through the snow that is all the way down to the level of the water. The side light works to illuminate the slopes, and the water works to reflect some of the scene above. There is a little noise that could be removed in post but other than that this works well.

There is a wonderful clarity to this image which comes from morning light after an atmospheric sunrise. The light on the mountains in the background is hazy and the mountains in the far distance almost appear as spectres compared to their associates in the foreground. The colours of the water in the foreground is lovely, with a turquoise hue that contrasts with the blues above. It's a shame that a few shards of sunlight has snuck into the top of the frame which is a little distracting to the eye, but other than that there is plenty to enjoy here.

There is a lot of mood in this image, enhanced by your muted processing which dampens down the colours in the rock and the sky. That natural formation creates an archway, an intriguing centrepiece for the composition. I like that there is enough water for a meaningful reflection. An interesting image that is full of texture, both in the rock and in the clouds above.

"Dog Slaughter" is a rather intriguing name for a waterfall. I wonder how it earned such a jarring name?

I like the composition you've gone with for your image, with the portrait orientation demonstrating how to ensure the eye remains in the frame, further encouraged by the log that has fallen, intersecting the frame diagonally. The fresh greens above help to add something of interest to the top of the frame. Nicely seen and captured.

This image has a little bit of everything -- interesting scenery, texture in the slopes of the imposing mountains and some glorious light covering the entirety of the frame. Sometimes it can be difficult shooting directly into the sun as it overwhelms the image and blows out the highlights in a distracting fashion. However here the direct sunlight adds to the atmosphere of the image. The one detail that makes the image really work is the inclusion of the tent and the human as it adds some scale and interest to the composition. Really powerful scene helped by the composition and processing, a worthy winner, well done!
