Your title for this image is 'Summer Morning' and that's exactly the vibe this image emits. Some images are all about the composition, some images are more about the feeling they convey and this image is firmly in the latter camp for me. Although the composition is totally fine, it's the feeling that is provided by the light creeping through and illuminating the low laying mist that really makes the image shine. I like the inclusion of the mountain on the left side, silhouetted against the morning sky. There is one little dust stop in the middle of the mountain that has escaped the editing process and removing it in post would make the image even more effective as right now it distracts a little and pulls the eye away from all the beauty depicted in the frame. One of those mornings that I doubt you'll forget. Thank you for sharing.

There is a wonderful simplicity to this image, the use of three different elements combined in such a way as to be powerful and effective. It can be difficult to balance the exposure when the moon is involved but you've managed that beautifully in this scene. The first hints of light are delightful, catching on the snowy peaks turning the snow a shade of pink. This compliments the dawn sky, blue in colour. The composition works well, with everything given the perfect position in the frame, with the moon hanging perfectly towards the top. There are more bombastic images in this weeks top ten, but the gentle perfection of this shot won me over and I had to give it the top spot, well done.

There is a gentleness to this image. It captures the landscape just as the day is about to give way to night. I like to call this time 'civil twilight' and it can be a difficult time to capture a landscape because the lighting levels are always changing. However you've done a grand job in this frame, with the last of the low sun catching on the trees in the foreground, creating warmth that then contrasts with the gorgeous blue hues of the sky above. The clouds are delightful, pink from the setting sun, floating across the top of the frame. The mountains in the distance also add some atmosphere, with a fine layer of mist visible. The more I look at this image, the more I love it. Just a gorgeous frame, thank you for sharing.

I really like your composition here. The portrait orientation ensures that our attention remains fixed on the elements in the frame. The light catching on the foreground reveals vibrant greens and yellows which compliment the granite greys of the mountain terrain in the background. The cloud drifting off the peaks in wisps adds atmosphere and your composition works well, especially the reflection caught in the pool of water. Nicely done, thank you for sharing.

I love the variation in subject matter that you've captured in this frame. You've adopted a wide angle which means we have plenty of space to fit everything in. The foreground is populated with daisies, their merry white and yellow colours contrasting with the rocks with which they share the scene. This in turn gives way to a clear blue sky, full of paraglider parachutes in their colourful forms. It's quite the contrast to the foreground and demonstrates how many different elements can occupy the same space, without infringing on each other.

Milford Sound is one of those places that pulls in photographers because of its beauty and drama. You seem to have caught it on one of the few days where it wasn't battling the precipitation. That being said, the low cloud clinging close to the surface of the water hints of weather that has passed through. The light catching on the mountains rising from the water dwarfs the boat below, adding scale to the composition. You've done well to fit all the mountains in to the frame without losing perspective. The foreground is a little dark so we lose some of the detail but that aside this is a powerful composition, thanks for sharing.

It is nice to see a slightly different take on a much photographed waterfall. I wonder if you were forced to change the angle of the composition because there were so many people milling around in the foreground? I know that I've had to deal with that issue when photographing at this location. However, the outcome works well. The waterfall is given prominence in the frame, and because of the angle we, the viewer feel very much dwarfed by it's powerful energy. The vibrant greens of the moss on either side contrasts with the blue of the sky and the spray given off by the torrent of water adds some atmosphere.

This image is full of drama. I can imagine that it took some planning to get yourself in the right spot and precisely the moment the light was this delicious and dramatic. I commend your effort in capturing such a majestic mountain range in the very instant it looks it's most dramatic. The weather of course plays a part, with those low clouds above the mountains adding to the mood. The texture in the jagged rock contrasts with the clouds in the sky, and both have been illuminated by the low, warm light. Processing is a very personal endeavour and to my taste the sky is a little over processed which makes the clouds look more messy, but my taste is not your taste and photography has room for all kinds of different processing styles. This is a great image that demonstrates talent and perseverance, and that should always be commended.

I think if you asked an AI machine to conjure up an image that could depict an English autumn it would likely still be less on the money than this image. This is the embodiment of autumn. Colour is everywhere, from the overhanging tree in the foreground at the top of the frame to the trees visible in the rest of the scene, all in their varied autumnal coats and all of them catching that same delicious light. You've done well to balance out the sky with the strong side lighting, although the sun has snuck in to create some lens flare on the right side of the frame which is unfortunately a little distracting. That aside, there is plenty to enjoy in this image and it makes me excited for autumn even though we're barely out of winter!

Yr Wyddfa, the land of my forefathers. My Taid worked in the Dinorwic quarries and would look over to yr Wyddfa on the daily. On weekends he would ride his motorbike to the top. It is a place that holds much magic, and your image does that justice. I love the moodiness you've captured in your composition. Rain is a constant in this part of the world and your image has a foreboding built into the moody sky. The early morning light catching on the mid-ground really elevates the composition and the processing is subtle, allowing attention to shift from the light, to the peaks and the threatening sky above. A quiet, but gorgeous rendition of one of my favourite places.

I love this image. It is full of intriguing as well as more than a little taste of mystery and apprehension. Fog has the ability to render even the most mundane scenes interesting. Here, the fog is hinted at, but it's not all consuming. It clings to the edges of the river bank and obscures detail in the sky. This allows our attention to focus on the maelstrom of trees and undergrowth consuming the edges of the creek. I love your composition, with the branches reaching across the frame, intertwined. You've worked with the chaos to create something compelling, aided by the processing and colour choices. An impressive image that's full of mood and atmosphere.

I'm a huge fan of a well composed and executed cityscape and this is the very definition of the aforementioned. The panoramic composition works well, allowing for much of the buildings to occupying the frame and the decision to split the frame in two, with the city above and the light installation below gives the feel of two very different experiences occupying the same space. The yellows and blues of the top half contrast with the purples emanating from below. Your decision to have shot this in the early evening when the city lights have switched on but there is still enough ambient light in the sky, work well. A powerful, well composed scene that makes good use of the elements in the frame.

The moodiness of this frame is delightful. It has a cinematic appeal and I could imagine it advertising some art house horror film or maybe on the front cover of a Stephen King novel. Both those are meant to be compliments because a single image that can convey a narrative is a difficult thing to create. Your dark processing feeds into this mood, giving plenty of space at the top of the frame and ensuring the trees are silhouetted against the mountains beyond. There is a hint of the path in the foreground, leading us towards the mountains in the distance. My only note is that the trees sneaking into frame on the left are more of a distraction than anything else. I'd consider seeing how the composition works if you were to crop them out. My instinct would be that it would create a more balanced image, but I can see why you'd want them there to compliment the trees on the right. A really intriguing image, thanks for sharing.
