This is a great viewpoint and nice to see in the competition. Where there is some room for improvement is in the focus of the shot and some of the settings you have used. I am not sure if you did, but perhaps using a tripod for this type of shot in the future can help a lot, I only say this as I notice the late evening light, coupled with the very high iso ahs added a lot of grain into the image. Typically you want to try and keep the iso down low, and using a tripod or balancing the camera on something means you can get away with a longer shutter speed.
Your image has some beautiful tones from the golden light of the sunset that accompany the nice rich details of the birds flying over the rugged rocks, this helps set a nice scene of the rugged coastline where you have been photographing. You have a nice balance of sea and land in the shot, so neither feels overpowering as well.
I love the perspective of this shot, not only does it let you get the whole pylon into the image but it gives it a feeling of dominating the surrounding area. I also like your choice to have shot in black and white, this has caused less distraction from the possibly green fields and forces the eye to appreciate the grand size of the main focal point. The focus is also nice and sharp throughout the image making it also stand out further, really well done.
I like the use of the panoramic in this image, I like the fact you have captured so much of the mountain vista along with the clouds hitting off the mountain peaks. The shot then coupled with the striking blue sky that's set against the greens of the forest works very well. Some parts of the image look like the focus could be a little bit sharper, but that is me just looking very closely into what is there, but all in, this is a great image.
I really like this image and is typical of what I would normally be shooting, I like the colours and how rich they are. The details are exactly the same, they are nice and rich with you able to see the textures of the rocks. This is very subjective, but where you can see through the water, its always worth trying to get that excluded from the image as it makes the ethereal feeling less so in the image, but this could have been a limitation with the compositions available in the shot. I always find the misty feeling works a lot better.
I love all the different layers within this image, from the darks of the bottom left all the way through to the top right as the sunlight hits all the mountain tops. This gives your image a real sense of depth and detail. I like your choice of 1/3 sky and 2/3 mountain, this also really works well as there is far more interesting factors in the mountain than the sky in this image.
This is a really interesting image, I like how you have used the path as a leading line to the red-topped mountain that the light is catching at sunset. A few to help improve the image would be that if the sky looks grey and not that interesting, get less of it in the image, and then also use a bit more foreground such as a rock to make the bottom half of the image more appealing too, this can also help set the scene for how rugged a location is too.
This is a really nice image and is great to see in the competition, I like the attention you have paid to catching the light and shadows that help make this mage work so well, but also the proper give it a great sense of scale too. Your choice of black and white really helps make a lot of the details stand out more and also gives the image a nostalgic feel that I like.
This is a great image and one that breaks a few of the rules of commotion and does it so well, I like how you have got a fine balance between interesting ground with the mountain and slopes surrounding it with the rich details, but have also captured this really interesting sky that is full of stunning details and characteristics. This all combined works so well.
I really enjoyed seeing this image, you can sense how cold it must be from the image of the ice you have captured on top of the water. The details are really nice and sharp and this helps make the image work really well, the colours don't seem to be far off either, as this can be quite tricky when shooting snow scenes, so well done indeed for getting that done well.
This is a nice interesting image, I like how you have positioned everything for it to be symmetrical as possible for the shot, this part of the image works well. Whare there is room for a little bit of improvement is with the focusing, as it seems the trees have lost a lot of their details, this will really help you to improve a lot with your work.
There are some great characteristics in this image, I like how you have got the upright near enough completely straight in the image, maybe a little bit more perspective control in post could finish these off completely. I like how you have captured the evening glow of the sun hitting the building, but have not gone overexposed with it, so the image still balances well.
I love the near mirror reflection in the lake that you have captured well, you can feel the cold from the location in the shot and that's really good. A few tips to help improve the shot would be to give the mountain a bit more space at the top of the frame, this would then at the same time help to balance out the really nice reflection so you get a better sense of symmetry in the shot
Meet the expert judge
I like your choice to shoot this image and for the capture of the golden light running into the clouds and some of the bluehour also being captured in the shot. A few spots where it could be improved would be to just avoid the little bit of road that is on the right-hand side of the frame and also maybe the foliage that's just below that. If you really enjoy shooting this style of work, it will also be great to invest in some graduated filters as they will really help to bring out more details in the sky and foreground.

This is a nice vantage point and a view you don't often see from this region, I like how well you have shown it. I like the side light you have captured in the foreground rocks and also in the distant mountains, this really adds a sense of depth to the work. The details in the colours and focus seem to be well-preserved throughout the image too, really helping to make the shot stand out.
