The highlights in the foreground really make this image stand out. The wonderful silver hues within the tree on the right work so well against the darkened trees on the left and the sunrise. The inclusion of the fence acts as a barrier between the view and the audience and makes for a unique and unusual color palette throughout with the the highlights really drawing our attention. A really interesting and visual interpretation of what is a landscape. Really well seen and made.
An atmospheric image that leaves as much to the imagination as what is actually revealed within the picture. This dark brooding photograph is beautifully studied and photographed. The horizon line is perfect and the almost black and white tones really add that extra element of mystery. The interconnection between sea and land are explored within this image. I would have personally taken the picture up a stop so that it was a little lighter but that is such a personal view as all the information is present within this lovely emotional seascape. Well done.
The mirroring is very well seen and captured by the photographer and the details within the sky are really nicely controlled. This is a really atmospheric capture that draws our attention into every area of the frame. The added element of the yellow sun just gives that spark of color that lifts the entire image. Well done.
The photographer has been rewarded by always having a camera with them. Just going for a walk can sometimes give you the opportunity to make wonderful images. This well framed and exposed scene is very well controlled and we the viewer can only enjoy the photographers hard work in making this picture. I hope you enjoyed your birthday and this is worthy of framing and placing on your wall. Well done.
A beautifully constructed image that looks like it could have been taken on another world or film set. The contrasts between the main areas of sand, rocks and sky are incredibly all so different yet together form the perfect image. The colors and exposure are very well controlled as is the composition of giving equal weight to all three areas. The inclusion of several people within the frame adds scale to the overall image. Very well seen and captured. Well done.
A simple image but the skill is seeing such an image to take it and actually getting yourself into a position to make the picture which is always harder than it looks in landscape photography. The photographer has worked really hard to make this capture and the quality comes through. They have been rewarded with a unique viewpoint which we the audience get to admire without doing any of the hard work. The mixture between the moon and mountains work so well within the colors and create a harmony between the elements within the frame. Well done.
I can only imagine what the photographer was feeling when taking in such a vista. The fresh air, the tiredness in the legs. We will never get to know what they were actually feeling but we are left with this wonderful capture. The subtle detailing in the shadowing as we peel away each layer with our eyes form foreground to background. A really well constructed and seen image. Well done.
An absolute classic style image from what we expect from the American road trip. This is a great example of doing all the little things right. The camera position to the side of the middle yellow lines in the road really allow us into the entire space and the control on the depth of field which brings all the elements together so sharply is spot on. The road snaking across the landscape takes our eye on its own journey across the frame. The only thing I may have done is saturate the image a little further so the sky was a little deeper in its blue but such a minor point on what is a great capture.
A really atmospheric and haunting image of a section of coastline which has been elevated by the photographers great compositional skills in framing this wonderful shot. The soft light works so well as the rocks go from a deep black to the lighter greys in the background with the gentle flow of the water going up to the formation with the cross on the horizon line which is very well controlled. A beautifully composed and crafted image. Well done.
The beautiful light which hits the cliffs is then reflected back onto the water and the composition really works well within this picture as the man on the boat draws our eyes to what he is looking at. The magnificent colors and formations on the rock. The composition is very well set out as is the exposure across the frame. The deep saturation on the boat and man works well against the lighter tones of the rock face to the right of him. A classic composition that tells a story and invites us the viewer into the frame. Well done.
The deeply saturated colors work well within this quintessential British landscape. The long exposure is very well controlled and really adds additional visual elements to the picture from the blur of the water running down its pathway to the subtle movement in the branches which work really well especially the ones that are highlighted against the mist at the top of the frame. The highlights in the woodland either side of the water in the foreground really bring us into the image in what is a beautifully controlled study. Well done.
A picture postcard that has been photographed perfectly by the photographer. The elevated camera position gives us the viewer the entire scene to look at and enjoy whilst the positioning and framing of the lighthouse and building could not be bettered. The sun coming down is well positioned on top of the lighthouse which acts like a beacon for ships and the exposure is perfect. A superb capture.
This is a great example of framing. The subtle blues of the water against the highlights of the sand dunes and the pale sky are so well balanced that it creates this unique view. The soft shadows are very well exposed and controlled. This was so close to my top 10. Would i have waited or taken the car out of the frame? place your thumb over and see what it does. Such a difficult one to call. Either way a great image.
The deep lush colors work so well within this baron landscape. The haunting sky is really well controlled and the photographer giving so much of the frame up to this area works really well and gives us the viewer an idea of the scale of what the photographer was confronted with. Superb technique. This could be a painting, so rich are the colors. Well done. I could see this as a really large print that would draw the viewer into the space.
A stunning visual image that really draws us into the space. The depth of color is unique and so unusual. Great landscape photography is all about a combination of subject matter and quality of light. This is a wonderful example of what can happen when the photographer is in control of both elements and has the skill to make such powerful images. The intensity of the red rock works so well against the deep blue of the sky and rich tones on the plains in the outback. The stars so bright add an extra quality to what is already a great image. Very well done.
