This is an interesting shot that makes the most of the elements in the frame. The pier adds a leading line that brings us into the image. The bottom half of the frame is warm and contrasts with the top half of the frame, where blue dominates and some stars can be seen.

You've leaned into the bold colours to elevate the relationship between the two parts of the frame and at times, this is a little overwhelming, but processing is a personal choice and people should be encouraged to be creative.

I like the otherworldly feel of the sky, making it feel like the sea, with the clouds appearing like creatures above the pier.

An interesting depiction, thanks for sharing.

The scene in the distance is what makes this image work for me. The path at the bottom of the frame leads the eye from the bottom to the top, where the hillside is shrouded with low cloud and mist, adding some atmosphere.

If you had concentrated on this part of the image alone, it could have had a chance at the top ten, but the inclusion of that large and distracting tree trunk on the right of the frame pulls me out of the composition and detracts from its overall effectiveness.

That aside, there is plenty to enjoy here and it must have been beautiful to witness. Thanks so much for sharing.

The trope of the lone tree is a popular facet of landscape photography, and for good reason. The lone tree trope speaks to loneliness but also resilience and independence.

The monochrome conversion works well, highlighting the lovely cloud that is the backdrop of the tree, dead centre in the middle of the frame. this elevates the tree and ensures it's where the eye ends up.

There is a dust spot to the left of the tree that is a little distracting and could be easily removed in post to make the image more effective.

Nicely seen and processed, thanks for sharing.

This is a landscape of a different sort, and one that I enjoyed very much. Landscape photography is a broad church which includes those big, epic vistas, or something like this -- small scale scenes that are full of detail and interest.

I love these patterns in the sand. I call them sand forests because they remind me of trees, but veins is also a good description. I like the monochrome conversion and the shallow depth of field that brings out the shapes in foreground, helped by the shadows created by the strong lighting.

A really interesting image that shows you're not afraid to think outside the box and embrace your creativity. Thanks for sharing.

This is an impressive urban landscape that uses the elements in the frame to powerful effect. I like that you've decided to silhouette the skyline, allowing the colours of the sunset to take centre stage in the image. This reds and oranges combine to cover the sky and tower over the buildings, reflected in the water below.

The reflection isn't crystal clear, but instead the water creates some welcomed texture to the scene, whilst maintaining the warm colours reflected from the sky above.

It must have been a wonderful sunset to witness, thanks for sharing.

This is a lovely, pastoral scene you've captured. I like your composition, with the tree on one side of the frame balancing out the copse of trees on the other side, with the stream running through the centre.

In the distance, hills are visible, and the image is dominated by greens and yellows. The side light is lovely, adding contrast and making the scene come to life. I like how you've leaned into that by bringing up the saturation so those warm tones contrast with the blues in the sky above.

It is a shame you haven't added any details as it would be to lovely to know your thought process behind the composition and your editing choices.

That aside, there is plenty to enjoy here, thank you for sharing.

This is a fabulous seascape that uses all the elements in the frame to powerful effect.

The two ships take centre stage, in various stages of decay, in relationship with each other. I love how each ship appears to be lilting to either side, creating symmetry in the composition.

Your choice to shoot a long exposure pays off, with the movement in the sky adding narrative to the image and the smoothness of the water helping to frame the shipwrecks.

The tones are lovely and even, with a hint of light catching on the exteriors of the ships, bringing out the warm tones and complementing the relative blues of the background.

An image that demonstrates your talent and a worthy winner. Well seen, captured and processed, thanks so much for sharing.

This is one of those scenes that I see a lot of when I'm judging these contests, and it's obvious why when I look at the images in question. The scenery is absolutely beautiful, with the distinct mountain range in the distance and the cool, blue water in the foreground.

This is a lovely rendition of this scene, especially as the mountains are dusted with snow, adding a wintery feel to the composition. This is helped by the snow on the treetops and the low cloud drifting through the heart of the scene..

The light catching on the mountains on the right of the image is gorgeous, adding some much needed warmth to the composition and helping to balance out the dominant cool tones.

Well done for making the scene your own, thanks for sharing.

This is a scene I know well, and it's interesting to see a different perspective.

You show the tension between nature and man, with the mountains towering over the road below, turned red with the tail lights of all the traffic rolling through.

I like the contrast between the red tail lights and the blue tones dominating the rest of the image. There is a relationship between the curve of the road and the curve of mountain peak above. The long exposure has not only added some movement to the road, but also to the clouds above, creating a narrative and showing off the weather.

The lack of light evens out the tones however there are some blown highlights at the top of the frame but that causes some distraction, but despite that there is plenty to enjoy here. Thanks for sharing.

There is something nostalgia and whimsical about this image, like it's harking back to a time that I can't quite put my finger on. I love images like that because they go above the sum of their parts and become something much more meaningful.

I like the composition you've gone for, and it's never easy to shoot into the sun, but you've managed to do it without too much in the way of blown highlights. The backlit, silhouetted jetty is the main compositional element, other than the sun, and the people on the jetty create a narrative through their various positions. I like the one right at the end with their arms extended.

The warm tones add to the mood and overall this is an interesting image and does well to manage the conditions. Well seen, captured and processed, thanks for sharing.

This image is all about the lines and layers in the landscape that you've captured. At the bottom there is the sand, with its different shapes and textures. Above there is the mountainscape, with the light catching on the ridges, creating light and shadow. The tops of the mountains are covered in a layer of cloud giving way to the sliver of blue sky above.

I love how you've concentrated on fitting those layers into the image, each layer bringing something extra and unique to the composition. Nothing is included that doesn't serve the composition and everything complements something else.

I like the details you've included in the description, they help to add context and complement the image. You've done justice to the scene, thanks for sharing.

I'm a huge fan of urban landscapes because I think they offer a chance to apply the facets of landscape photography in a new and different setting.

Your vantage point makes for an interesting perspective, with the two sides of the motorway stretching out before us, leading the eye into the urban sprawl in the distance.

The buildings are catching the low, evening light and the clouds are catching some colour.

I like how the white lines lead us into the scene, a lovely combination of vertical lines from the buildings and the curves of the road.

Nicely seen, captured and processed.

There is a moody, intriguing feel to this image, aided by the stillness which is creating the right conditions for the glass like reflection in the lake.

Your composition works well, making the right decision to break the rule of thirds by placing the horizon in the middle of the frame so you can make the most of that reflection.

The woodland on the far shore adds some colour to the scenery and is complemented by the grey clouds above. The clouds add some much needed texture of the image, as well as some blues to offset the greens. I like that you've included some foliage on the right of the frame as it leads you directly into the image.

Well seen, captured and processed., thanks for sharing.

This image is a lovely example of the best camera being the one you have on you, as this was shot on an iPhone, demsontrating the power of mobile photography.

I like that you've used the path in front of you as a leading line into the heart of the landscape. The brown of the path/road is in direct contrast with the greens and the yellows of the fields lining either side of the path.

Above, cirrus clouds fill the blue sky, creating pathways of their own.

Nicely seen and captured, thanks for sharing.

Some images are all about grand vistas and some images are more about the feeling they evoke. For me this image is the latter.

There is the spectre of a woodland visible in the frame, slowly disappearing into the distance. The silhouettes of the pine trees are spooky and unsettling, as if this could be a still from the opening of a horror movie.

This alone would have been an interesting image but it's made even more interesting by the inclusion of that falling snow. The high aperture makes the flakes appear almost like bokeh against the trees.

The inclusion of the snow gives the image an otherworldly feel, as if it could be snowing or the fall out from a bomb. A moody and evocative image that makes the viewer want to look closer, thank you for sharing.
