love the colours and details throughout the image. A wonderful seascape scene that captures the viewers eye with its warm sky and cooler colours in the water and rocks. The contrast of the human figure then draws the eye down to focus on the finer details and the story of the image. A photographer saving their camera from the salty waves! The person also does a great job adding a sense of scale to the scene. A very simple improvement would be a straightening of the horizon line. A easy fix for a wonderful shot!
I'd really love to give this photo a higher grading as I can see the amazing potential it has. Unfortunately I can only go by the quality of the file before me and low resolution and black frame make it too difficult to gauge the value of the image. I'd be very happy to see this photo in future contests in a better resolution so I and others can appreciate it more.
A bright, dynamic and engaging photo. I like the level of long exposure here that blurs the water enough to add movement while retaining details in the splashes on the rocks. The low angle of light hits just the right spots to draw attention to the key features of the image. With that being said, all the attention is drawn to the centre and left of the image. By cropping out a quart of length from the far right and a little off the bottom of the image, you could rebalance the shot while keeping the same feel. Fantastic light and capture!
An eye catching vista with warm off camera light bathing the serrated hills. The small walking path leads the eye deeper into the scene and draws attention to the tiny human figures adding scale to the landscape. The bright scattering of clouds is well proportioned and matching to the main subject. A wonderful capture in the dwindling light.
A wonderfully exposed long exposure seascape image. The details of scattered rocks stand out against the cloudy flat surface of the water. A line of which points out towards the sunset and wind streaked clouds. With everything going on towards the bottom left of the image, a crop from bring in and down the top right corner would help to viewers eyes central and within the subject matter. A great exposure with a balanced amount of shadows and highlights.
A beautiful sweeping shot of Matera in the evening light. The warm tones of the lights work great with the cool of the shadows. The church tower stands out against the night sky, drawing the viewers attention immediately. The warren of streets across the hill jumble the interesting stone buildings with scattered light. A strong central triangle shape is created by the tower, the small window in the bottom left, and the wedge of illuminated town to the right of the frame. Wonderful shot!
The light in this image is absolutely gorgeous! The warm light gently touching the delicate details on the grass plays nicely with the cooler tones in the shadows. The glare from the sun is exposed perfectly to give the realism of trying not to stare directly at the sun, pushing the eye to focus on the details. Great work!
A wonderfully golden scene with glistening water and story telling with silhouettes. A candid moment captured with great timing and composition. A long vertical photo can work great if the space is utilised fully. I feel with this shot, you could keep the essence of the image and crop out most of the sky above the clouds and even a some of the dark sand at the bottom. It would even draw more focus and attention to the two human figures in the warm sunshine. Wonderfully taken shot!
A mirror finish lake with snow capped mountains is an irresistible scene to photograph. The clear blue sky here works really well to accentuate the shapes and details of the landscape. The green of the trees and shore stand out against the blue of the mountains, adding a little depth to the image. I feel like the blues, especially in the mountains, could do with a slight drop in saturation levels. A very striking and engaging image. Well done!

I can see what you are going for with this photo with the brightly coloured buildings and unique personality of the street. However the over bright highlights in the sky distract from the scene a little too much. If you have the opportunity to shoot this scene again, try playing around with different compositions and exposure. A slight improvement to this photo would be a square cropped image in the very centre, cutting out the blown out sky and keeping the thicker dark coloured cobblestones at the bottom.
A beautiful scene with amazing light. Sometimes a location makes it irresistible to capture a breath-taking landscape photo, even when still in the car. A photo is made up of everything that is in the shot, and none of what isn't. This means that the small piece of the car in the bottom right also puts the viewer in the car rather than standing amongst the gorgeous nature. Try cropping the photo, maybe to a traditional 3:2 ratio, to cut out the far left and right of the scene and see whether you find the result more appealing. Keep up the good work with your photos!
A lovely seaside scene with pops of colour and glaring white to add to that scorching summer feel. The shadows under the boats in the crystal clear water give them the impression of flying rather than floating. The curve of the buildings on shore lead the eye around the scene and the canoe in the bottom right helps to anchor the corner of the scene. A wonderful landscape travel photo.
