This is a fabulous example of how to use a wide angle lens to create a compelling composition. On the left of the frame is the main focal element, seemingly closer to the viewer, and that helps to lead the eye through the rest of the image, from boat to boat, all the way to the far shoreline.
Shooting in to the sun can be tricky as it can blow out highlights but you've leaned into the light in this image and it's all the better for it. I love the way it is backlighting the boats and illuminating the water. It makes the image much more appealing, helping by your clear and defined processing style.
An impressive composition that demonstrates the relationship between manmade and natural elements. Well seen, captured and processed. A worthy winner, thank you for sharing.
This is one of those locations that lends itself to landscape photography. In the foreground we find lush green grass across undulating hills, filled with both foliage and the occasional hut. The hut in turn becomes a focal point for the frame, small against the impressive backdrop of mountains rising up and towering over the scene.
In this image those mountains are somewhat visible, but mostly shrouded by the low cloud swirling, swallowing the tops and obscuring the sky. Thankfully light has found a way through the illuminate the hut and the greenery. The panoramic framing emphasises the composition and all in all this works well, thank you for sharing.

These are my kind of conditions. It's so rare to get fog and mist in woodland because it holds on to heat well enough that temperatures rarely plummet, but when it happens it leads to wonderful conditions like the ones you've captured here.
The sun burning through the fog creates a beautiful, ethereal atmosphere that must have been amazing to witness. Thanks for sharing.
This image is all about stark contrasts. The bare landscape has a few bits of foliage dotted around but mostly it is devoid of anything besides the red/brown rock that dominates the frame.
There is a harshness to the light that suggests it would be difficult for anything to grow here. In contrast to the reds and browns, there is a blue sky above, filled with interesting clouds that complement the texture of the rocks.
Nicely seen and framed, thanks for sharing.
I'm a big fan of capturing reflections, especially of landscapes. It's not often that the wind is low enough to allow reflections to appear, so it always feels like a special event.
I like that you've included the reflection in this image but also you've given room to what's happening in the clouds above. There is the sense that rain is coming in and the weather is turning, and what I really like is the detail of the rain visibly pouring down in the distance.
It's a really interesting detail that elevates the composition. I wonder if you were able to change position and move closer to the edge of the lake if you might have been able to capture the full reflecting of the clouds?
That aside, there is plenty to enjoy here, thanks for sharing.
This works well to show off the landscape that you're capturing in this frame. There is an inherent layering effect that is pleasing to the eye. In the foreground there are trees and foliage that are green and yellow in colour. This leads to the rock formation that takes up the middle of the frame and is the main focal point, the greys and browns contrasting with the yellows. Above, is the sky, blue in colour and filled with clouds that add some much needed texture.
The framing and the lighting works well. The only issue I have is there's a dust spot at the top of the frame that becomes a distraction and pulls my attention away from the image. That could easily be removed in post to make the image even more impressive.
Nicely seen and captured, thank you for sharing.
This is one of those images that it could be easy to overlook in favour of more bombastic images with great light/vistas. However, everything that the photographer has tried to do in this image is done well and demonstrates your ability to create a compelling composition, whatever the weather and whatever the subject matter.
Here, the bridge and the arch dominate the frame, and the trees on both side balance each other out. I like the tight composition so there isn't too much overcast sky sneaking into the frame, and the fact that you've included a little bit of the water below adds context.
The inclusion of the man walking his dog over the bridge is the final puzzle piece that adds both scale and narrative to the scene.
Well done for finding something intriguing and interesting on an overcast day in a potentially mundane location, it demonstrates your skill as a photographer. Thanks for sharing.
I always like to see photographers experimenting with different ways to capture sunsets. Although it would be easy just to capture the sun as it dips below the hills in the distance, you've decided to make the image much more interesting and compelling by including elements from the surrounding landscape, and the image is all the better for it.
Using the aperture f/8 means that the hills in the distance are sharp and the foliage in the foreground isn't completely blurred out. You've done well to compose so the foliage isn't touching the hills and are in fact pointing towards the setting sun.
A simple, yet powerful image, that does well to incorporate the surrounding landscape. Nicely done. Thanks for sharing.
I love these kind of conditions. When the temperature has dropped overnight and mist prevails, burning off as the sun rises. It creates some magical conditions for photographers that I never tire of capturing and your image demonstrates why it can be so captivating.
You've done well to shoot into the light and not have too many highlights blown out, and that means that everything is backlit which gives the whole image an ethereal feel to the image.
This must have been beautiful to witness, thanks for sharing.
This is an interesting image that has a fairytale feel. It's a shame that you haven't provided any further details regarding the EXIF data or your thought process behind the image. My instinct is that it is a composite but I could be wrong. Either way, there is plenty to enjoy here.
You deploy the trope of lone human standing on the precipice and looking out over the sea to the far mountains. This gives the image dreamy feel. I like that the foreground has a little bit of light illuminating the grass and there is some low cloud in the distance adding some atmosphere. The clouds are a little surreal but that adds to the personality of the image.
Nicely seen, captured and processed, thanks for sharing.

This is a powerful monochrome image that uses the subject matter to make for a compelling composition.
The shape of mountains in the distance is rather intriguing, with a jagged peak and two tone gravel from the top to the bottom. It has an almost alien feel to it, like it could have been taken by the Mars rover on a distant planet.
I like that the grasses in the foreground are catching some light, helping to balance out the flatter tones behind. An intriguing image, thanks for sharing.
There is something rather calming about this image and I like that you're trying to do something different with the framing and composition.
Most would have made it so the island in the distance was in focus and the foliage around was blurred, but you've gone for the other way around and it makes the image all the more interesting. We're still able to perceive the island in the distance, it's just less defined, like a mirage. The soft colours of sunset add to the feel of the image, and it's rather calming to look at.
Always good to see photographers thinking outside the box and playing around with compositions, thanks for sharing.
I like what you've done with this image. The panoramic framing works well, although it would have seemed more balanced if the lighthouse was nearer the edge of the frame. That being said, I do like how the lighthouse and the dog balance each other out in the middle of the frame.
The inclusion of the dog is what makes this image work for me. Him splashing through the pool of water adds narrative and movement to the image, and his auburn coat complements the green of the seaweed.
Nicely seen and captured, thanks for sharing.
I like the symmetry that you've spotted and captured in this image. The low angle works too, giving the feel that we're looking through the image towards the umbrellas. The strong lighting helps to bring out the colours, and I like that the two lines of umbrellas at the edge of the frame on either side, balance each other out.
The bold colours stand out against the cloudless blue sky and all in all this works well, thanks for sharing.
