The tones and colour palette throughout this image are sublime. The warm mossy greens and the muted sky blues, with a spot of red on the cap of the lighthouse. At first I thought there was a narrow depth of field focused on the lighthouse, but looking closer I could still see all the detail of the grasses in the foreground. Everything has a wonderful glow from the out of frame light. Three little wind turbines balance the positioning of the lighthouse well. My only suggestion is to straighten the horizon line slightly. Once you see everything tilting towards the left it can't be unseen! Still a great shot with frameable appeal!
It's all about the lavender. Seemingly endless fields that stretch to the distant mountains. Mountains that have a slight lavender coloured tone to their shadows. Even the dress of the central person has a hint of lavender colour. The sky is cloudy, yet warm. I also really like the little pops of green contrasting against the vibrant purple. A really well considered photo both before and after taking it. Well done!
A visually striking image in both colour and texture. A difficult condition to shoot in for both exposure and composition. Everything is positioned well here with no perceivable visual imbalances. The longer I look the more my monkey brain conjures up patterns and shapes. Especially what appears to be two faces on the verge of a kiss in the centre. The strange and wonderful world of abstract landscapes!
A powerfully moody image that shows a great shot doesn't need great weather. Foggy conditions like this are perfect for unique photos. The foreground branches provide an interesting structural element, while leading the eye across the water to the trees on the opposite shore. The eye then tries to peer through the dense fog to see the trees even further away, giving an extra level of depth. The overall cool tones match the subject matter well.
A visually striking black and white architectural photo. I find interesting the mirroring of shapes and lines that have their tones inverted. The bright triangular shape of the sky is almost mirrored in shape by the dark near black pavers. The silhouetted supports on the outside are brighter lit in the interior. A nice blend of tones and abstract elements.
A wonderfully classic landscape scene of green lands, blue sky, and fluffy white clouds. The path provides a good leading line for the eye to be draw into the scene. The expansive sky does a great job here of giving the same sensation of lifting ones gaze above the horizon and igniting the senses to the surroundings. A beautiful scene captured well!
A very fiery sun illuminating misty water and providing a story through silhouette. The minimalism of the photos elements keep the viewers attention on the people on the boat, while immersing themselves in the landscape. There is a slight imbalance in the scene, which would be alleviated with a 3:2 ratio crop centred on the sun. Still a great story telling landscape photo!
A beautiful cloudy autumn scene. The lush green, well-cropped grass contrasts well against the deep reds and oranges of the autumn foliage. The sheltered white building draws the viewer in to the scene, imagining life amongst these hills. I feel this shot would also work in a more panoramic format, removing a lot of the excess sky. Great shot!
A wonderfully warm and vibrant landscape photo. The setting sun seems to be nestled on a band of clouds, illuminating the lush ground in golden light. The lake provides a central anchor for the image and visually helps to balance the off centre sun. Roads and paths add scale and give little lines for the eye to follow and explore. Nice work!

A fantastic under bridge shot with bold shapes and lines combined with little windows to a more natural world. The inclusion of so much of the concrete bridge adds a visual weight to the scene. The near perfect reflection plays with perspective, making the supports look like they are on top of another inverted bridge. Well spotted and well captured!
You've done a great job to capture the split shot here. I've tried myself on a number of occasions and know how tricky it can be! There's a great amount of detail under the water and on the land, with everything in focus and exposed well. I like the contrast of vibrant water life to barren desert landscape too. However, my favourite part is the texture of the waters surface as seen from just slightly below, with a subtle distorted reflection of the coral reef. Well done!
A unique vantage point and display of Wadi Rum. Normally I'm a big advocate for straight horizon lines in landscape photos, but in this case the tilt works with the rest of the photo. The angle down is in the direction of the highlights and main elements, helping to draw the eye that way. Then the fish eye curving of the sand texture and shadows swirl the back around to the distant and distinctive desert structures of Wadi Rum. Fantastic work!
