An intensity of colour that captures the viewers eye. While the colours themselves are technically over saturated, it's the purpose of photography to elicit the emotion of the scene as well as the visual details. A normal capture of the sunset would usual result in the clarifier "I guess you had to be there", where as highlighting the colours in this way helps the viewer experience the awe and wonder of being immersed in the scene. Great work!
You've done well to capture this silky long exposure seascape. The scattering of rocks stand out in the softened details of the water. The distant small island is perfectly centred and provides a point of focus for the rest of the frame. The photo is well exposed from the bright highlights of the water to the deeper shadows in the rocks. Well done!
One of the first things I noticed was how the red in the sky matches that of torii gates in sunlight. The perfect colour for this scene! The crowd of people all clambering to see the sunrise from the summit is a great descriptive element of the moment. The glow of the water below and the layering of the hills all work wonderfully. My only minor suggestion would be to straighten the slightly sloping horizon. Still a fantastic shot!
An ethereal forest scene straight out of a fairy tale. The beautiful atmospheric light emanating through the trees invites the viewer into the scene. A single younger tree sits in the middle of the frame seemingly glowing with golden light rather than reflecting it. The overall balance of composition and exposure is good too.
A well composed mountain, lake and reflection scene. The blue grey of the rocky peaks work well with the green of the trees and water. The scattering of row boats on the lake provide a scale for the scene and a story telling element. They also draw in the viewers attention, igniting a desire to be floating out among them!
You've used the wide open space well here to describe the vast distances encountered in a sea journey. The sail boat is well positioned against the brighter part of the sky, and moving into the frame. The viewers eye then tracks the path of the boat towards the storm ahead, adding an extra story element to the photo. Well done!
A lovely peaceful scene with a strong triangle of visual elements with the torii gate, small pier, and Mount Fuji. The light is beautifully bright and brings focus to the red torii gate, instantly giving a sense of place. I do feel that a slightly more panoramic crop that removes about half the sky would improve the overall balance of the frame. It's still a well taken photo, well done!
You've done a great job here to have a glimpse of a river work as a curving leading line that draws the eye into the distant valley, only to curve back around the next bend, even without seeing the river. The whole scene is well composed and the bright glare in the sky suits the landscape. I really like the contrast and details in the rock faces too.
A tremendously epic landscape with a wonderful composition. The path is an excellent leading line into the frame straight up to the jagged mountain peaks. The distant mountains are offset with a cloudy abyss that hint at the shear cliff face lurking beneath. There is a division created by the slope of the mountain with a calming vista on one side and an ominous void on the other. Great capture!

There is a lot of good things going on in this image. The sharp contrast in the brightly lit rock out cropping's set the mood of the scene. The viewers eye is free to explore the details of the rocks as well as the distant landscape and hills. While the colour of the sky isn't realistic, it blends well with the colour of the rocks and dark green vegetation. My only suggestion would be to straighten the horizon line as everything is sloping to the left. A simple fix for a good photo!

A superb black and white photo with depth and intrigue. The misty air has a gentle glow, enticing the viewer to peer deeply into the shrouded forest. The silhouetted trees in the foreground frame the distant trees wonderfully. My only concern that this image might face in future contests is the quality of the file uploaded. It would be great to see the best quality available in order to appreciate it's beauty properly!
To be honest it is difficult to put down exactly what draws me to this photo. I think it comes down to less about the subject matter and more about the aesthetically enticing colour palette and abstract nature. The overall cool tones are delicately touched with the soft deep red of the chimney, and again in the little poles in front of the caravan. The subtle reflection adds an element of symmetry to the scene as well. A minor suggestion to try would be keeping the aspect ratio, but cropping out the very right clump of bushes. This would create a symmetry with the rise and fall of the trees on either side. A very captivating scene!
A refreshingly unique take on a classic composition. A popular photo for any travel photographer to add to their collection is the glowing setting or rising sun silhouetting a lone acacia tree. The way you've used two trees here to frame the glaring sun suits the style well. The layered landscape beyond also adds extra depth to the frame. Well done!
A great shot of frozen rocky mountains with a shimmering lake reflection. The frost covered vegetation provides a good foreground interest and helps bring the viewer into the conditions of the landscape. A gloomy sky adds to the quiet wintery nature of the scene. A fitting photo that does the location justice.
