This is a photogenic castle and the mirror-like reflections add interest and symmetry to the shot. However, the composition is very tight at the bottom of the frame, with very little breathing space around the reflected turret. The castle would look better placed centrally with an equal amount of sky and reflection. The castle also appears to be leaning - this can be corrected in editing.
This is a strong and impactful composition. Positioning the oak tree so centrally really helps place emphasis on it. The soft light and shade - shaping the landscape - provides depth and contrast. And the hit of autumn colour in the bottom third of the frame gives the shot a seasonal flavour. A well composed and captured drone image.
This is a lovely wintry landscape. However, the sky is just not interesting or active enough to justify so much of the image space. Typically, a longer focal length is the best option for scenes like this, allowing the photographer to highlight detail within the landscape and exclude flat, dull, skies.
I'm not an astrophotographer, but I can still appreciate the patience, skill, and planning involved in capturing a shot like this. Several elements have to combine to achieve results like this. Many astro photos lack thoughtful composition, but in this instance the photographer has really considered the overall balance of the image, with the winding path acting as a compelling lead-in line. Well done.
The photographer has composed this shot thoughtfully, with the river directing the eye into the frame toward the mountain backdrop. The overhanging tree adds interest and helps frame the river. The vertical composition suits this view. But the brightness of the sun (creeping into the top right corner) is quite intense - and the flare created is distracting. A slight change of viewpoint would have prevented this.

Welcome to Photocrowd’s ‘Landscapes’ contest for New Joiners! These contests are a chance for new members to introduce their photography to the community, and get a taste of how Photocrowd contests work. They can be entered by anyone within their first 28 days of joining Photocrowd. After 100 images have been submitted the contest closes and the Crowd will start rating the images. The Expert Judge will also be judging the images and writing reviews at the same time. All the winners, both Crowd and Expert, will be announced after 3 days of judging. Make sure you also check out our two other New Joiners contests - ‘People’ and ‘Animals’.

This is a nicely composed and captured shot. The incoming waves add interest and the sky is active. However, the hue is very cool and doesn't reflect the warmth of the sun or sunrise. Unless this is intentional, I would guess the camera has mistakenly selected the wrong white balance. Raw shooters can easily adjust/correct this in post-production.
