These conditions are wonderfully atmospheric. The elevated perspective, looking down upon the low cloud, provides a magical result. When taking (and editing) photographs, it's important to do 'border control'. The branches on the right, and the balcony and dish in the bottom left corner, are needlessly distracting. A longer focal length, or tighter crop, would have excluded them.
I just love misty conditions. Fog and mist simplify the landscape and help highlight shapes, objects, and landmarks within the landscape. The trees poking up above the fog provide a good subject, and the longer focal length neatly compresses perspective. It is a subtle, desaturated scene. There is a distracting tree-top just poking into the composition (a third-way along the bottom of the frame) that should be cloned or cropped out.

Welcome to Photocrowd’s ‘Landscapes’ contest for New Joiners! These contests are a chance for new members to introduce their photography to the community, and get a taste of how Photocrowd contests work. They can be entered by anyone within their first 28 days of joining Photocrowd. After 100 images have been submitted the contest closes and the Crowd will start rating the images. The Expert Judge will also be judging the images and writing reviews at the same time. All the winners, both Crowd and Expert, will be announced after 3 days of judging. Make sure you also check out our two other New Joiners contests - ‘People’ and ‘Animals’.
The photographer has shown great dedication and planning to capture this shot. Astrophotography is tiring, challenging, and can prove fiddly too. I know this viewpoint well and it's a bit of a trek to reach at nighttime. But the result makes the time and effort worthwhile. A slightly higher ISO, to generate a faster shutter, might have helped render the stars more sharply.
This is such a beautiful sky, full of drama and interest. It's rare for a landscape to work when so much of the image-space is dedicated to sky. However, the intense rainbow and quality of light provide interest enough. The sliver of landscape at the bottom of the frame provides just enough context, although it's maybe not as sharp as it should be.
This might be a popular and well-photographed Venetian scene, but there is no denying it's a fantastic viewpoint. The green glow (which I assume is simply light population) gives this nighttime shot a slight aurora feel to it. It's a well composed, exposed and edited shot. The starbursts add interest too. Nicely captured.

Full marks to the photographer for getting up early and capturing these beautiful dawn conditions. This is an atmospheric shot. The waterway provides a good lead-in line, and the reflections help spread the dawn glow. I wonder if the gateway really enhances the scene, though? My instinct says a better, cleaner composition was possible by getting the other side of the gate and making more of the 'S-curve' created by the still water.
The Tyne bridge is a great subject. The timing is perfect, with colour remaining in the sky, but being dark enough that the artificial lights (and their reflection) take centre stage. For me, the lower third of the frame feels like wasted space. I would have shot this in landscape format, but - as it is - a square crop would produce a stronger, more concise composition.
