A lovely display of these waterside buildings, full of character and earthy colours. The light coming from left of frame does a great job of drawing attention to the interesting little boat in the foreground. It fits the scene and location so well, adding a story element that sparks the viewers imagination. My only suggestion would be to try cropping out the foreground beach and log, and giving the photo a more panoramic aspect ratio by removing the sky above the house in the middle of the hill. It will hold the attention within the main subject a lot more and look fantastic framed and on a wall!
A fascinating display of light that could be interpreted in different ways depending on the viewer or their mood. To some the light would appear gentle and calming as it dances gracefully across the valley floor. To others it may appear eerie, to be approached hesitantly, as the dark trees hide what the light fears to touch. To me, it's a beautiful scene with lots to explore and ignites my imagination.
A beautiful display of composition and light. Everything is well controlled to keep the viewers attention within the frame. The bright sunburst plays well with the glowing mist and radiant rock face, creating a visual triangle in the centre of the image. My only regret is the submitted file is of a low resolution and the full impact of the photo cannot be appreciated. I'd love to see this shot in future contests in a larger format to examine it in better detail. Well done!
A gorgeous autumn photo in a well manicured park. Everywhere you look there are little scenes to spark interest. A old bridge in the foreground, a curve in the path through autumn leaves, sheep in the distant field, and a columned and domed building nestled in the trees. A wonderful image to explore and become immersed in.
Wonderfully captured light with a beautiful golden glow that provides a nature glare. The sun does a great job of both attracting the eye and forcing it away as the brain tells the body not to look directly into the sun. The lines on the road appear to emanate their own light as they lead the viewer into the scene. Beautifully taken!
I love how the whole landscape of snow acts as a reflection to the beautiful colour gradient in the sky. The calming cool tones of the majority of the frame are cut through with the bright fast paced lights of the long straight road. There must have been a lot of well moving traffic to capture this many light trails after just one second! The road does a great job of leading the eye into the town nestled at the base of the mountains too.
You've done a fantastic job to capture that stunning golden light over such a long exposure while keeping the rest of the image well exposed too. The various shades of tan suit the glowing light, while a hint of green draws the eye to the sea. The visual elements feel well positioned and balanced throughout the frame. The small white buildings give a sense of scale and height to the vantage point. Great work!
A wonderfully immersive scene. I really enjoy images like this that conjure up sounds of crashing water force my eyes to squint at realistic glare. The two main falls are well positioned to balance out the frame and add extra depth to the scene. The short shutter speed gives the waterfall a greater sense of power, compared to a longer exposure that would give off a more calming vibe. The rainbow is a nice touch too! Well done!
How could anyone not stop to admire the golden light on display here. With a city like this for a backdrop as well makes it all the more appealing. The warm tones of the sky complement the colours of building roofs and facades. My only suggestion would be to ever so slightly straighten the horizon line. The tower in the centre of the frame feels to be tilting just a little. Still a beautiful shot!
There is a great visual gradient here from gentle fairy-tale like nature in the foreground, through dense imposing forest, to rugged and looming snow capped peaks. This is a wonderful display of the variation in landscape of the location. The deer is definitely the distinguishing feature of the photo. An almost mythical creature glimpsed in a vast wilderness.
A well spotted vantage point with interesting lines, shapes, and colours. The fact that you've paid extra attention to positioning the reflection to incorporate the sun touched tip of the rock shows a professional approach to composition. With such an intriguing landscape as this, it can be easy to point and shoot and assume that the rocks will do all the work for you. But it's little details like this that will set you above the rest. Nice work!
A simple composition with loads of emotion. Shooting a minimalist kind of shot like this and in black and white can be difficult to get the desired affect. You've done well to capture a scene that evokes a calming sense of quiet reflection. Or cold and lonely solitude, depending on how you're feeling! It's up to the viewer to decide. Well done!
A lovely view of the countryside with an interesting foreground. The millstones fit so well amongst the natural rock, while clearly standing out as a man-made object subjected to time and the elements. The vista beyond provides a calming scene of gentle light over hills and horizon. The colour palette is subdued while still boasting varied shades of green, red, and blue. Very nice!

A gorgeous urban landscape shot with rich industrial reds and glowing golden towers. New York is such an iconic skyline that is photographed over and over. It can be difficult to capture something that stands out from the rest. You've managed to capture just that with this view and lighting conditions. My only suggestion would be to try cropping to a more panoramic aspect ratio that removes the pipe in the foreground and about half the empty sky. The brick buildings as the foreground provide a much more appealing base for the frame. Still a wonderful shot!
