I'd love to see more of the face in this shot, to see who these sad eyes belong too. Technically strong shot, I like the right eye being in focus and the left one dropping out of focus. Good tones in the black and white conversion.

You're right, we should deal with it by smiling! Nicely exposed image, great light on the person which helps balance the shot well, the background lights could be a little over powering otherwise. Great use of depth of field and colour adjustments.

This is a fantastic landscape and I'd love to know where it is and visit! I like the idea of the figure looking out across this scenic vista, it creates a solitary feeling but also one of adventure. For a portrait I would be tempted to try the person revealing their profile and looking out into the space right of the image. Great scene.

You've captured the light beautifully in this scene, it has a wonderful warm tone to it. Compositionally it's interesting and I like the dynamic between to the rows. Technically it may benefit from some shadow lift in Lightroom and perhaps a layer mask to increase the highlights in their robes.

Experimenting with photography is the key! Trying new things will only strengthen our skills so well done for trying your hand at something new. I love the retro film look you've gone for. I'd perhaps try separating the model from the black chair to something lighter so her clothes stand out more. and we can get even more of a sense of her gothic look.

This portrait made the top 10 as it has an intriguing and mysterious feeling to it. The girls stare is intense and draws you right in. I like the framing you've used and the overall warmth in tone to the image. Great shot.

This is an intriguing portrait. Before reading the details I presumed Photoshop had been involved but a Kaleidoscope is much more interesting and fun. This technique has created a beautifully dreamy shot with lovely soft tones. The models gaze is great, you should do a series of these, I think they'd make a great set with different people/models in nature.

A difficult shot with the strong sun lighting the scene. You've done a good job to create the highlight on the hair and side of your model and you've chosen your angle and composition well. It would be interesting to try the shot under different lighting conditions, golden hour would give you some wonderful warm tones.

Technically a tricky image to get right but I like what's going on here. It gives a sense of freedom we've all been craving over the last year. I feel as you are the centre of focus for this shot it would be good to see your handstand alone in that amazing landscape, perhaps without the stone.

This is a difficult time of day to photograph in with the strong sun creating the highlights on the water and strong shadows from the people. The elongated shadows coming from the 4 men create an interesting feel and the extra two figures on the beach help the composition. If you shot this on a camera you could try a polarising filter, if shot on a phone its more difficult to control.

Lovely story to the image and fantastic location, that sky is great. Would be lovely to pull back a bit wider to see more of the string as it gets a little lost, this would also reveal more of that great landscape, fun shot.

I do like an industrial portrait and this is a great set. Such a shame the man with his back to the camera at the front didn't give you his attention too. The colours of the outfits contrast brilliantly against the sand they are working with. Perhaps a wider shot would work well capturing more of the environment.

Meet the expert judge

That's a really fun picture, it almost looks cut out! The guys pose at the front is full of determination to get that group shot and everyone else seems equally happy about it. It looks like they've set it up getting everyones heights just right, a great moment you've captured there.
