Interesting use of colour in this shot and I like the double portrait aspect you've captured in the frame. Check out street photographer Matt Stuart for further inspiration and see how he incorporates signs into his work with street portraiture.

Very striking image. The execution is superb with the soft tones and colour pallette. The girls pose and gaze is very engaging drawing you in to those eyes. If you've really just started 8 months ago then I encourage you to continue and explore this route. You might enjoy the lighting and approach in the work of Julia Fullerton-Batten. Well done.

You've definitely succeeded in bringing human emotion to the shot, the way he's holding the animal feels quite sad and the warning sign adding an unsettling element. The black and white conversion definitely adds to the emotion of the shot. Compositionly perhaps you could go a little wider to see more of the scene.

Welcome to Photocrowd’s ‘People’ contest for New Joiners! These contests are a chance for new members to introduce their photography to the community, and get a taste of how Photocrowd contests work. They can be entered by anyone within their first 28 days of joining Photocrowd. After 100 images have been submitted the contest closes and the Crowd will start rating the images. The Expert Judge will also be judging the images and writing reviews at the same time. All the winners, both Crowd and Expert, will be announced after 3 days of judging. Make sure you also check out our two other New Joiners contests - ‘Animals’ and ‘Landscapes’.

The composition is very interesting in this shot and thankyou for being so descriptive in the text. It seems like a challenging environment to shoot the portrait in so you've done well. The exposure is great on the sky, it would be good to see a little more detail in the face and profile, perhaps bringing up the shadows in some post production software. could help lift the shot.

This has a timeless quality to it, lending its look to a previous decade which I like. I wonder where they are coming from or going to. You could try a little extra contrast in post processing to bring out some of the detail in the foreground possibly.

I really like this shot, it has a strong editorial feel about it. You've made great use of that wonderful window light demonstrating that simple set ups can often create strong and engaging images. I like the detail of the window being open and the frame being in shot too. The engaged look of the models is great as well, it's a strong collaboration between you all.
