This is a truly intriguing image. What is going on, is the subject dancing, fighting or falling over? The ambiguity over the narrative is a delight. The photographer's caption suggests the subject is dancing, although maybe a little ambiguity is better.

Pink and yellow, what a great combination! This engaging 'fashion' image is packed with depth and attitude. The vibrant colour palette is a delight for the eyes while the subjects striking pose and gaze works a treat and the amazing pink boots are the icing on the cake.

Shooting into the low sun like this and lighting the subject in such a way that it complements the 'vibe' of the scene is quite a challenge, but the photographer has done well and achieved this with style and grace.

Using a drone has given the photographer an unusually and striking viewpoint from which to capture this near-abstract mosaic of human presence above a street market. The colours, shapes and textures of this vibrant market scene have been artfully captured.

There's a lovely sense of joy and sheer abandon in this delightful image. The simplicity of the barren background and the central position and pose of the subject in the frame creates a splendid sense of energy. Converting to black and white works a treat.

The deep penetrating gaze of the subject in this striking portrait is mesmerising. The handling of the light is just right and the rendering of the tones and hues have been artfully manipulated to add to the vibe of the image.

There is a great concept behind this portrait. The deliberate use of space, careful and reserved selection of props and the subject's expression have been well considered. They speak eloquently to the message behind the image. The title is the icing on the cake. Good work!

Taking a self-portrait can be challenging at the best of times, but when you also want to communicate deep emotions it is even harder. The photographer has done really well in this image to portray a sense of hidden sadness.

A beautifully natural and spontaneous portrait. The colour palette is sublime and harmonious, especially the connection between the hues of the subject's hair and the deep turquoise of the sea below. But it is the eye contact that really makes the image engaging and successful.

An interesting image that reveals a bold and confident approach to photographing people. The striking dominant use of red is powerful and eye-catching, especially in contrast with the dark shadow areas. The central character with a blue facemask and 'V' fingers adds to the intrigue.

What a wonderful underwater poratrit. Tools such as the GoPro have made this kind of photography so much more accessible and it's great to see what people do with them. The sensitivity to colour is perfect, with the red, yellow and mass of blue providing a vibrant impact.

An engaging and well-fremaed portrait. The bright background, without any apparent detail actually works really well, and helps create a sense of place that has an uplifting and positive vibe that is also reflected in the expression of the subject. Good work!

There's a genuine unposed feeling about this portrait. A moment captured. The dirt, insects and so on the subject's face add a sense of reality and spontaneity and make the image. The eyes have great intensity and have a real impact. Lovely use of light too.

A beautiful moment of quiet contemplation has been captured in this image. The composition is sublime with the red poles create a wonderful sense of depth, they also work as a cunning framing device. and provide a great sense of place and context.

The rich, dense and vibrant foliage in the background provides a perfect setting for this quiet and contemplative portrait of a craft person at work, weaving a decorative leaf. The background has echoes of the French painter Henri Rousseau and provides lovely context.
