Great capture demonstrating a happy celebration. The fountains work well as the backdrop. If you have any post production software or indeed on your phone you could try to increase the contrast a little and brighten the shot to really make it sing!

This has a classic feel to it and the blue light effect works well. The light has spilled over on to your subject a bit so you could try more distance between your model and the area you are lighting to avoid the blue tone covering your model. Lightroom could also offer some shadow pull to lift the face a little. Good shot/portrait.

I've not seen a one man band in a very long time, he's great! I like the black and white treated you've given the shot, it gives a timeless quality to it. A good documentation of Prague street life and of perhaps a dying profession.

This is a great shot, I love the mixture of light sources and colours, especially the yellow warmth on your friends forehead. Of course the laughter and smile make it, it's wonderful. It goes to show, you can create a stunning image with minimal lighting kit as you explain. Well done, top shot.

Great portrait and makes me want to try the fish mush.... It would be great to see some more detail in the kitchen, it looks such an interesting setting. The information is there in the shot so you could try lifting the shadows in post production/Lightroom or similar to provide a balance with the portrait.

This is great, a mixture of smiles and inquisitive looks. You could perhaps do a little post work on the highlight and shadow areas to help create some more contrast overall. This may also help to control some of the harsh sunlight conditions it was taken in.

What is it with babies and doors! Nice crisp focusing on those big blue eyes which is really accentuated by the use of your aperture helping to blur out the background. Good colour relationship in there too with the blues on the top and in the background!

This is great and your perseverance has certainly paid off. That light is fantastic across the court with those superb shadows. I really like the composition and angle you've chosen and it's interesting where you've waited for the boys to get to before shooting. Top shot

This is quite stunning in terms of colour and lighting. Its very well executed and I'd love to know a bit more about the lighting. It's beautifully soft on the face and costume and stands out against that wonderful darker setting. Great portrait both creatively and technically, well done.

I'm guessing this man is a tuk tuk driver? I like the moment you've captured, you seem to have stopped him in his tracks. Great light coming from the top left of the image creating the hazy light. This combined with your choice of Aperture has created a strong street portrait.

You have created a portrait here that demonstrates the connection between you as the photographer and the sitter. It's a very strong shot and opens lots of questions about who the person is and where they are. The subdued colours create a peaceful atmosphere. I think it's a fitting portrait of the current time and situation.

Make sure you also check out our two other New Joiners contests - ‘Animals’ and ‘Landscapes’.

I really like the texture you've added in Photoshop. Its like you've unfolded a picture story from your pocket that's been folded and left to be found! Intriguing location, where is this!? The apprehension to enter the dome by the boy is great, perfectly shaped by that triangle. The colour grading you've applied works well too, well done.

This is a wonderfully vibrant portrait. The colours are great with that pink popping up in the background that matches the hair. Great use of that f1.8 lens bringing your subject right into focus and creating that lovely blurred and colourful background.

I can only imagine the worry this would bring you as a parent and hope your daughter is fit and well. I like the fact you have used your daughters hand wrapped around your finger (amazing feeling) to focus on, it demonstrates vulnerability, strength and hope.
