A slick and competent image that reveals photographer who clearly knows what they are up to. The lighting is soft and atmospheric while the choice of clothing and background work harmoniously. The composition, posing and engaging eye contact are the icing on the cake!

A bold and striking composition that creates a wonderful sense of energy with all lines leading eloquently to the main subject at the centre of the frame. The lighting and handing of tones and colour have also been artfully handled. However, it's the content that really makes this photo shine.

An excellent capture. The shallow depth of field using a small aperture such as f/2.8 has created a lovely blur which has helped separate the subject from what would have otherwise have been quite a busy background. However, it is the engaging eye contact and connection with the subject that makes the image shine.

This striking image has bags of style and character. The lighting has been skillfully handled. The dynamic composition which uses the pool ball and cue to lead the eye to the subject is strong and also adds to the narrative. The handling of the colours is perfect.

I strong and powerful portrait. The hard, gritty handling of the black and white conversion works well. The subject's hand dominates the frame and his penetrating eye contact creates a solid composition and concept. If I'm being picky perhaps the background is a little 'over-processed'. Great work, well done!

The low-fi qaulity of this image initially put me off. However, I found I kept returning to it. Despite the low quality, there is a mindful and considered approach to the composition and I love the way the subject is positioned in the frame creating a sense of depth and isolation. The subtle, muted colour palette with restrained use of red is sublime.

An evocative image that is loaded with potential meanings. The figure in the foreground has been skillfully captured to give just the right sense of motion and narrative. The simple, but effective composition works well while the handling of the black and white tones is lovely.

I love this bold and minimalist composition. The smallness of the subject wearing black agasint the vast yellow wall works really well. The harsh light and strong shows add to the vibe, while the big, beaming smile of the subject is the icing o the cake.

The photographer has done really well to observe and capture this unusual photograph of people at work. Finding a unique vantage point underneath the activity was inspired. I love the shapes the workers make as they're in near silhouette against the rich blue sky and clouds. Nicely seen!

Wow, what a fabulous, dynamic image, that's simply bursting with vibrant energy. The combination of dancer and paint has been skillfully done. I'm also super-impressed that this was handled as a 'remote shoot'. The fact that creativity can be explored like this is an exciting sign of the times

Great compsotion. I love the form and structure in the frame, the delightful symmetry is echoed with the circles on the subject's face which is a nice touch. Being a little critical the black and white treatment is a little 'muddy' and would benefit from rethinking. Otherwise, this is excellent work, keep it up!

The Whitby steampunk weekend is a wonderful place to make photographs. This image shines out as it shows restraint and most importantly the expression of the subject suits the event, costume and background. The slightly muted colour palette is nicely done.

What a beautiful, warm and gentle expression. It's been perfectly captured at just the right moment and feels completely genuine. The handling of the black and white tones is top-notch while the composition creates a lovely sense of place. Well done.
