A strong compsotion with fabulous leading lines. Shooting into the sun (contre jour) creates a wonderful sense of depth. Placing the subject in the centre is a bold and confident move, but one that pays off well. The icing on the cake, however, is the lovely expression of the subject that has been perfectly captured Good work!

A beautifully seen scene. The natural light presumably from a door or window to the left casts a wonderful light on the subjects. The position of the subjects' heads feels very natural and unposed. Lovely handling of the tones and colours. Good work!

I love the contrast and intensity of the colours in this bold and striking image. It resonates with real energy with the reds and yellows vibing off each other. The richness of the shadow areas gives the image a lovely sense of depth.

This is a wonderful composition and the use of the slide as a framing device has worked really well. The black and white conversion has been well handled. However, the icing on the cake is the static in the subject's hair, which really is a super touch! Good work!

A simple, but bold and highly effective portrait. Taken in the tradition of the classic travel portrait this image captures the colourful costume and jewellery of the subject. I sense that behind the slightly deadpan expression there's a knowing smile. Good work!

Most photographers will try and avoid dappled light like the plague. It's very difficult to work with. However, when handled well, as is the case here, the rewards can be awesome. I love the layers of texture, depth and colour that the light, lace and leaves create.

What an amazing and intriguing image. I couldn't work out at first what was going on with the subject's eyes and then realised it was salt on the end of his eyelashes -this creates a strange and slightly surreal impression. It's a shame that the copyright mark (right) distracts from an otherwise excellent composition.

People at work always make great 'environmental portraits' and this is a great example. The image is rich with atmosphere and harks back to the old days with historical overtones. Lovely use of lighting and composition to create a well-balanced image.

This image packs a bold and dynamic punch. The strong colours work well. The glasses with their "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder" text is super cool and add a quirky sense of humour with a strong message to boot.

Wow, this is a slightly creepy image. It captures the spirit of The Adams. Family perfectly and gave me flashbacks to watching the series when I was a kid. The pose, accessories, and lighting, not to mention the black and white conversion have all been expertly handled.

What a great capture! There really is an element of the decisive moment in this classic street shot. The timing is perfect and the subject's alignment is perfectly in synch with the background, not as easy as it looks to get this right. Good work!
