The simplicity of shape and the bold use of colour gives this image a delightful strength. The juxtaposition of red and blue works a treat and was nicely seen. The lines of the rails and the solidness of the concrete create a great anchor for the composition.

Excellent control of light and tonality in an accomplished and well-seen photograph. The light which feels as if it's pouring into the scene has been artfully controlled and works well with the subject's upward-looking gaze. The black and white conversion has been skillfully handled too. All in all, good work!

Love the vibe of this enchanting vision. The mellow mist and ripened fruit create the perfect backdrop for this scene to unfold. I like the way the subjects are walking away with their backs to the camera as if inviting us to join them on a fruit-picking adventure.

Excellent control of light in what is quite a challenging situation. Shooting into the light can confuse cameras and it takes skill and understanding to control the situation. In this instance, the ambience of the forest is authentic and works with the romantic vibe of the story's protagonists.

A lovely, gentle portrait of a shepherd. Great use of shallow depth of field (using a wide aperture of f/2.8) to slightly blur the background and create some separation from the subject... but crucially still maintaining enough detail to provide context.

Love the use of silhouette in this striking band shot. I particularly like the subtle hint of colour in the rather out-of-place lamp shade. There's also a lovely connection between the two main subjects with their hand gestures, along with the wonderful light streaming in from the back of the stage.

Excellent use of space and a confident approach to composition. The formal approach to framing has been skillfully considered. The boy's contemplative gaze adds to the narrative while the muted colours and delicate tones work a treat. Good work, keep it up.

There is a wonderful, vibrant energy to this image. The blue and yellow hues which dominate the scene work harmoniously with one another. However, it is the playful positioning of the moon, which counterbalances the main subject's head that makes the image shine.

I love the narrative in this artfully conceived vampire tableaux. The lighting, composition and concept have been artfully handled along with the angle of view and use of props. This is good work, keep it up, it would be great to see more stories.

I love the sense of adventure that this exotic image evokes. The colour palette has been carefully controlled and adds to the mood, along with the subtle handling of tonality. However, it's the content and 'story' that make this image stand out.

Sometimes a lovely explosion of spontaneous smiles is all you need to make a cracking portrait. There is really a sense of authenticity to this shot that feels genuine. The simple, clean background and use of a flower are just the icing on the cake. Nicely done.

Great use of negative space in this bold and confident composition. I like the way the subject is looking out of the frame and positioned so that her head is half cut off. This creates a powerful, albeit uneasy sense of tension. Good work.

The black and white treatment works very well in this interesting and engaging image. The tones have been skilfully controlled and the image resonates with intrigue. The subject's penetrating glance directly into the camera adds to the narrative. Lovely work.

Art galleries are a great stomping ground for creative pictures of people. Pictures of people juxtaposed against pictures of people can be a fun and fruitful way to explore with a creative eye. It's not easy though. Here the photographer has done well to have the two women looking directly into the camera. Nicely seen.
