Lovely to see Cardiff as a location in this photo, the light here is incredible, this is called golden hour, where you've captured this prior to sunset. The framing is interesting, with the trees leading the eye to your sitter. Well done!

I’ve chosen this image to review to further commend your use of layers, balance of light and overall film aesthetic. There is so much detail in this, but it doesn’t overcrowd the overall purpose of the image. The film grade edit is superb.

I appreciate the angle taken here, it feels such a natural approach to street/portrait photography and creates a curiosity narrative, the doors hold much of the framing, with an opening, revealing what's behind the door. Simple with a great statement!

Congratulations! This portrait immediately caught my eye, not only for its themes of the contest, but the narrative is so well considered. You have directed the frame around your model's and the environment. Portraits taken in this style would make a wonderful series from the partner's view of motherhood. Well done!

I really love how happy this portrait is and the sense of calm it brings to the eye. This is a tremendous entry, you’ve balanced the lighting so well that it doesn’t over expose your model's features. Gentle, effective and moving. Great job!

Thank you for submitting this photo to this contest. Great subjects captured and grey tones within the landscape and striking horizon. If you're interested to pursuing landscapes like this in the future, please research Ansel Adams and Robert Frank too.

This is a sweet portrait and interesting framing, with the wide cropping. You've captured a moment which feels special, and the facial expressions adds a humbleness. I'd suggest editing out the pole in the background to bring more attention to the subject.

I love the cinematic value this portrait shows, layering with the foreground and a sharp background featuring your main subject. This also has themes of voyeurism but well shot as the location is equally considered. Also, great colour grading. Well done!

Thank you for entering this contest! I found your image very reminiscent of 1990s editorial, your model has direct contact with your lens, which makes this session stronger. Please research Bruce Weber photography, specifically his portraits of male models during the late 90s.

Congratulations! This landscape portrait immediately caught my eye, not only for its themes of the award, but the balance of light is well measured. This image is framed with cinematic references, however, I'm really impressed with the use of aperture within that environment.

I’m drawn to this image as the art direction is well presented here. I feel I can recognise your references for this image, it reminds me of the Black Swan by Darren Aronofsky, I would encourage this direction by taking a cinematic direction. Great make up too!
